Three or four years ago, some 27 to 30 programs on broadcast networks were cancelled 2 years in a row.
It is rather humorous that NBC wanted to cancel Chuck after the 1st year. They got enough flack that they continued it. It became one of the only stable viewership programs NBC had had in a long time. It lasted 5 years.
ABC almost cancelled Castle at the end of its first year. Again, the fan base rose up and caused ABC to renew it. It has had a relatively solid fan base for 8 seasons.
The CW almost did the same after the first year of Supernatural. Supernatural recent got renewed for a 12th season.
Network execs don’t always make good decisions.
Fox’s new Houdini and Arthur had such low viewership last week, I expect it to be pulled soon.
CBS is apparently adding a reworked MacGyver next season.
It’s Houdini & Doyle. It’s a British series that aired earlier in the UK. In fact, the last episode just aired in the last couple of days.
Chuck was a slow starter with me but I really grew to love it.
The pop culture references were a big selling point. Casey being a big RR fan helped.
I’m so glad to hear Supernatural was renewed for season 12. Love that show.
