I think there is a definite bias for places which are easy to get to, but I don't think it is a bad list and superb photos.
A couple of quibbles:
- California: Pfeiffer Beach is certainly beautiful, but there are others nearly like it along the thousands of miles of California coastline. Yosemite is what is really unique.
- Maryland: Clear Meadow Farm. Yeah, fields of sunflowers are beautiful, indeed even really beautiful. But there are hundreds of places just like this in North Dakota, Kansas and NW Minnesota. Even New York reporters can get to the Eastern Shore without much difficulty . . . or the breathtaking views along I-68 in Maryland's panhandle. I'd pick either over a field of sunflowers.
- North Dakota: This view of the Badlands is not a bad pick at all. But it doesn't make it the prettiest view just because it is visible from I-94. Get off the interstate and head toward the North Unit of T.R. National Park and you will find even more spectacular views along two line roads. And even better if you are in to extreme hiking or horseback riding.

Ditto, on the selections for Mississippi, North Carolina, and Virginia. Georgia and South Carolina were okay.

How do you pick up your wallet if you drop it in Provincetown?

These were editors / liberal presstitute picks ....... beauty is in the eye of the individual in my opinion...... be it nature, old victorian structures or a rusted out abandoned pickup. Pretty is .....

Looking Glass Rock and Pisgah National Forest are beautiful, but I can think of several other candidates in NC that are just as beautiful.

I was just at Watkins Glen Park to hike and it gives Letchworth a run for its money.
Not nearly as big but absolutely breathtaking.

Got a pic or two of Looking Glass Falls totally frozen over. Lots of Waterfalls around my old Carolina home and in the Land of the Sky.

Funny cause people have such a negative view of NYS because of NYC and the government and winters.
But much of Upstate NY is stunning in its beauty and far more rural and downright desolate than people would imagine.

As much fun is poked at New Jersey, I cant believe that Cranberry Bogs was the selected area!!
That was definitely a weak pick for Jersey. If you get outside the Philly-to-NYC corridor, there are plenty of beautiful spots.

The island in the middle of the bay in the Hawaii photo is where the Castaways from the SS Minnow were stuck for 3 seasons in prime time and in perpetuity in re-runs.

Can’t remember the highway, but it’s just as you’re breaking out of the Blue Ridge. You can see the whole Piedmont valley from there. Grandfather mountain to your left, Pilot mountain to your right. Just a highway, but absolutely breathtaking none the less.

421, probably, but Grandfather Mountain would be to the right and Pilot Mountain would be to the left, coming down.
