Full Title: When Simon met Sammie: The uplifting moment a Boxer puppy who was shot in the head, dragged behind car and left for dead is comforted by another abused pooch at the vet
Two abused dogs have found a buddy for life in each other while they recover from their harrowing ordeals in a South Carolina veterinary clinic. Sammie, a four-month-old boxer puppy, was brought to a kill shelter by his 'owner' after the heartless individual spray-painted him, shot him in the head, and then dragged him behind a car. The poor pooch was left for dead, but after hanging on for three days in agonizing pain, someone brought Sammie to a shelter.
The shelter rushed the dog to Paws & Claws Animal Clinic in Columbia, and a New York City-based rescue group, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, agreed to foot the bill for the pup and then adopt him out to a good home when he's recovered. Meanwhile, also at the vet, a four-year-old border collie named Simon, who was recovering from his own abuse, spotted Sammie recovering from surgery and decided to make a pawsitive impact on him by offering some comfort while he was on the operating table. It's unclear what happened to Simon, but much of his fur is missing, showing the tender pink skin underneath, probably from mange.
Since then, Simon won't leave Sammie's side, according to The Dodo. The two have been pictured communing inside of Sammie's cage and nuzzling each other.

I’m with ya on that........sometimes I hate people......
Good but still to fast. Stake his naked butt out over a big azz ant hill......and then it’s go ants GO!!!!
If I ever encountered some fool doing cruel things to a pet, like the loser who inflicted such horrific injuries on this poor dog, I would advocate for the pet--in kind. Would have no problem at all "educating" them as to the error of their ways.
Damn; sounds pretty good and appropriate.
Just have to lay in a bigger supply of popcorn, soda, and scotch.
Of course I like the old fashioned field radio generators and jumper cables also.
Them RED ANTS.
I only have five rescue dogs.
So I have nothing to add.
The spray paint may indicate that Sammie was used as training material for fighting dogs. A lot of missing pets, dogs and cats, wind up that way.
Six years ago I adopted an abused Rottweiler puppy and named him Harley. A few months later we adopted a three legged pit pull puppy and named him Trooper. We got him the day that he had his leg removed and he was about the same age as Harley - about three months. They bonded. When trooper was in pain, Harley would bring him a toy and lay it down in front of him. When the other dogs were horsing around and getting rough, Harley would keep them from stepping on Trooper. They’re still best buddies.
We’ve fostered around 90 dogs and cats and we’ve learned that it’s a good idea to get two animals at the same time. They have to be in quarantine for at least a month and it gives them some company. They usually bond and give each other company.
You are a good person.
Thank you.
I could find them again, but there are a lot of them-
Studies that show that the people who abuse animals, even as young children, are at a *MUCH* higher risk of becoming (or being ) sociopaths who kill, maim, rape and torture other humans. That is the reason that authorities are wise to take even the most trivial animal abuse incidents VERY seriously.
Someone who can hurt an animal needlessly is not a human who should be among other humans (or living, in my opinion). I believe the chance of them ever being ‘cured’ is quite a bit smaller than that of pedophiles, even; once someone shows evidence of this they are going to be dangerous until their last breath.
