WI District 1 is made up of 3 counties (Kenosha, Racine, Walworth) and portions of 3 others (Rock, Waukesha, Milwaukee.
The 3 major counties show the following results in the presidential primary, providing an indication of the headwinds that Ryan is facing.
Kenosha-----Trump 42% Cruz 41% Kasich 14%
Racine------Trump 32% Cruz 51% Kasich 14%
Walworth----Trump 34% Cruz 48% Kasich 15%
It can be inferred that at least 36% of folks (Trumps' averages) in these counties probably will work very hard to unseat Ryan.
It is difficult to foretell how Cruz supporters will fall.

Paul Ryan will never want to eat here again
Can dems and independents vote in that primary? This might be something voters can agree on, across the political spectrum.
Difficult??? If anything, Cruzers would want to unseat Ryan more, because he blocked in the House everything Cruz was working for in the Senate--and Cruz even worked to sabotage both Boehner and Ryan in the House by trying to organize principles conservatives against him.
This is not meant as a putdown of Trumpsters, who have their own reasons to support the ouster of Ryan, but rather to point out one of many things both sides of the FR aisle should agree on with great ease.
Cruz supporters will vote Ryan,
as they are a lot like Ryan.
All talk, no action.
I have heard that Ryan is from a largely Democrat-registered district...which makes him such an anomaly in Congress. He is in a majority Democrat district but is an elected Republican.
So, my query: First of all, is it true that Ryan's district is Democrat? Second, if Nehlen wins the Republican primary, can he win the general election in November?
It’s a swing district.
It voted for Caliph Baraq in 2008 but Mediocre Mitt in 2012.
That’ll help convince them - but at least the Trump followers will be able to maintain their smug self-righteousness.
For crying out loud, the idea is to defeat Hilary! and slap around the GOP establishment, not to revel in the belief that people with Trump stickers are purer than everybody else.
Either you are the worst troll or the stupidest Trumpster ever.
Your comments are factually wrong and not in the best interests of Trump.
In Wisconsin, Cruz supporters were there because of #nevertrump talk radio and Gov. Walker endorsement of Cruz. Gov. Walker has said he will vote Donald Trump. He stressed he would always support the republican nominee over Hillary. I personally am not a Scott Walker fan, but I believe Gov. Walker’s endorsement carries a lot more weight than whatever it is that Paul Ryan brings to the table.
A good way to tell whether Cruz is a phony or really is anti-establishment would be to see if he is willing to take on Ryan the way Trump has. Cruz doesn’t have to play nice like Trump, he can throw his support the Nehlen and with Trump voters joining in, Ryan would be toast. Would he do it? I don’t think so, but it will help in his rehabilitation if he did.
“Cruz supporters will vote Ryan, as they are a lot like Ryan. All talk, no action.”
Extremely stupid statement and totally wrong. Most Trump and Cruz supporters share their most important value: they detest insider GOPe RINO traitors and cherish outsiders.
I’ve always added the Trump and Cruz votes together to come up with the percentage of GOP primary voters that were dissatisfied with the sell-outs in their party.
I would fully expect that Trump and most Cruz supporters in Ryan’s district to be livid about Ryan’s anti-Trump, anti-GOP, pro-Hillary remarks.
Impy do you see Ryan losing this?
Yes, it’s an open primary
I was smart enough to realize who was going to win the GOP
nomination.
Many others supporting Cruz were the stupid ones.
Could be the Paul Ryan has a problem
But just not in the way they imagined. You bet your ass that we Trumpsters and the CruzCrew can unite against these jackasses.
No, I don’t. His opponent, Paul Nehlen, is a non-entity with no funds.
The primary is not until August (filing hasn’t even closed yet) so a lot can change, Nehlen could get funding, build support, get an endorsement from Donald Trump, that would have to happen for him to have a real chance.
Or Ryan could endorse Trump after meeting with him, alleviating any likelihood of a problem, I suspect that is what will happen.
Freepers hate Ryan and will oppose him anyway, but does he have the kinds of problems Eric Cantor had in his district? I don’t think so.
your earlier post was against the best interests of Trump .
This primary was like a pre-season in which we would see who would be the first string QB. Trump is it. He and everyone on the team still needs to be a team player.
