For a film to break records before its release is usually a good sign. But such records tend to be for advance ticket sales or most trailer views they do not tend to register unusually high levels of online dissatisfaction.
When the first look at footage from Paul Feigs female-fronted Ghostbusters reboot debuted in March, the reaction encompassed outrage not only that the beloved comedy was being remade, but that the lead characters genders would be altered.

Good, it deserves it. It looks awful and ruins the Ghostbuster franchise.
Bill Murry carried that movie (as usual). Her role coulda been played by many others and it wouldn’t have missed a beat.
The trailer is so absolutely terrible you’d think they wanted the film to fail.
CBS's took the Sherlock Holmes story and placed it in modern day NYC, as opposed to Victorian London. It's the same quirky Holmes. But Dr. Watson is now a woman, Lucy Liu. I was skeptical at first, but it absolutely works for me.
Disclaimer: I always thought Lucy Liu was kinda hot, so I guess that affects my review here.
It has “Massive Flop” written all over it.
And trailers can make bad movies look good. If this is the best they've got, it is doomed.

Now, it's just stupid, and three skanky bimbos are NOT -- repeat NOT -- going to have the clownish chemistry of Akroyd, Murray, and Ramis.
Yet some doofus managed to convince the Hollywood idiots that this anchor could fly, and was worth sinking millions of dollars into.

True, but at least it showed she can deliver a professional performance in a straight supporting role.
If these guys wanted to do their little reboot, then they could have at least gotten a better cast.

All the comedy bases covered from the straight man, black guy, the weird guy, the “manish” female, and the lovable female underdog.
At least the dynamic would lead to some genuinely funny moments, and would not have alienated 101% of the audience.
Columbia admits to a $154 million budget. I’m going to presume that doesn’t include promotion as summer gets closer.

Everytime they do something like this, the movie is a monstrous failure.
