Glenn Beck Ends His Fast
Breitbart ^ | May 4, 2016 | Rebecca Mansour

Posted on 05/04/2016 6:16:06 AM PDT by C19fan

After calling for a fast as Indiana headed to the polls, Glenn Beck has finally weighed in on the news that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has canceled his campaign after losing the Indiana primary to Donald Trump.

Beck, an ardent supporter of Cruz, campaigned tirelessly for the Texas senator throughout the primary season, starting first in Iowa and concluding in Indiana yesterday.

Thy must have finally upped Beck's daily dose of Thorazine enough for him to have his first lucid moment in months.

Who knows, if they up the dosage a little higher, maybe Beck will even stop thinking that he and Cruz are a prophet and messiah team.

Hooking up with this fat douche was one of the first mistakes the Cruz campaign made.

Does anyone still listen to Beck? I don't see how it could have hurt Cruz.

People were repulsed by Beck and reconsidered Cruz’s judgement for having such a nut around.

I don’t think Glenn Beck did Cruz any good at all

Now there's the understatement of the year.

All his talk about Cruz being sent by God to guide us thru the rapture, how Scalia’s death was part of God’s plan to get us to vote for Cruz, how Cruz was the fulfillment of Mormon prophecy, and how Cruz was like Moses, all sounded like something coming from someone holed-up in a compound with a stockpile of Kool-Aid. Cruz should have never accepted his endorsement, and should have denounced Beck’s religious lunacy.

I'm not one to play the guilt by association game, and I don't think a candidate is obligated to say "I don't want your support" to every lunatic that endorses him. However, when a candidate starts believing the same crap as his lunatic fringe supporters, it becomes a problem. I got the impression that Cruz himself started to think he was some sort of messiah or prophet. He certainly campaigned more like a candidate for preacher than for President a lot of the time. All the theo-babble from Beck and from his own father probably got to his head. Getting cozy with Beck's lunacy and with the corrupt Romney/Bush wing of the Republican Party are what dragged really him down. All a shame really, since Cruz is a smart guy who had a lot of potential.

“So with all the divine talk, the prayer, the fasting and tireless campaigning, does Beck have to admit God let him down?”

Are you kidding? It will just reinforce his works-based false religion, where God’s hands are forever tied by fickle, sinful humans.

People don't listen to Beck, but they remember why they don't. The fact that Cruz did made them question his judgment.

I actually found his statement to be about the most sane thing he's said in a while.

Tomorrow is a big day, folks.

For individual citizens, largely nothing changes. We all still have our own personal responsibilities.

Regardless of who ends up being president, we are responsible for holding them accountable to the people — to the Constitution. We still owe each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor. Civilizations and societies go through waves of belief in Individual Liberty versus belief in Government.

So, for now, we’re in the minority.

Weather the storm.

Believe in our nation’s founding principles, believe in our rights, believe in God, and we will ultimately prevail. No matter who is president and no matter how far down the path to Socialism or Fascism our nation goes, each of us must still stand for Liberty. As long as we stand up for our principles and our rights — for each other — we will continue to win.

Each of us must still feed our families, must still defend freedom, must still be honorable.

What is happening in this election is normal. If you think it’s abnormal, you aren’t looking back far enough into history. Civilizations go through this. Societies aren’t a straight line of growth. There are down waves for every up wave.

Tomorrow is just Wednesday.

It’s another day where each of us has an opportunity to be a moral person. To defend Liberty. To protect our neighbor’s rights, and count on him to defend our own.

Is this guy a 10-year-old child? Sticking his face in Cheetos. Going on a “hunger strike” because his candidate didn’t win. What’s next, grabbing a crayon and drawing mustache and glasses on his picture in magazines?

For somebody who hates Trump so much, Beck sure did help him out. Maybe he can go campaign for Hillary.

The two most destructive moments for Cruz were Iowa shenanigans which admittedly I think were overzealous campaign kids more than him and his comments immediately after the Chicago rent a mob at the Trump rally where he blamed Trump for setting a tone

Man that really hurt him right here on Free Reublic....I did a vanity thread about it I was so shocked as an early Cruz supporter and dozens of people here switched to Trump that very night

That was the pivotal moment when he lost his shot

The Amanda Carpernter tweet stuff was salacious but in this day and age not much given its so common with the way young women are so promiscuous and male politicians are what they are

Beck didn’t help

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was doing just fine until he let this nut job join the team. It was all down hill from there. Perhaps he was a Trump plant LOL.

Now GB can prepare for the demise of his radio/TV shows.

Beck, Levin, and Rush (and their advertisers) are going to have to adjust to the new normal of low ratings and very infrequent listeners.

I would have thought they would have known better.

Ted Cruz and his father and his wife feel that he has been called by God to run this country. Cruz senior is a Dominionist.

Dominion Theology is a theocratic ideology that seeks to implement a nation governed by conservative Christians ruling over the rest of society based on their understanding of biblical law. Dominion Theology is related to theonomy, though it does not necessarily advocate Mosaic law as the basis of government.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominion_Theology

If I wanted to live under a theocracy I would move to Saudia Arabia.

Yes, I was one of those who jumped off the Cruz ship at that point.

"Hooking up with this fat douche was one of the first mistakes the Cruz campaign made."

Wait, wait wait.... What are the odds they all got together to tank Cruz by overwhelming conservatives with their idiotic-level support?? I cannot recall this level of craziness ever, especially from Levin

It would explain a lot...
