A Sikh man is demanding authorities bring charges against a woman who falsely accused him of making a bomb threat and led to him being pulled off a Greyhound bus at gunpoint, detained for 30 hours and photographed without his turban.
Daljeet Singh, who is from the Punjab region of India, had been travelling by Greyhound from Phoenix, Arizona, to Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 21, when another passenger reported he was 'acting weird'.
He was legally in the United States after being granted asylum – and as an observant member of the Sikh faith, he has never shorn his hair and wears a turban in public at all times.

I know the sikhs are not muslim. But some people here on FR think that Sikhs are special people.who deserve special rights that are not available to normal Americans.

As I understand it, the woman accuser ‘knows and understands perfectly arabic’, yet the Indian Sikh speaks only his own language. One of them was not telling the truth.
Exactly. . .”I know Sikhs are OK.”. . .I get what you are saying, but absent details of what was “weird” it is premature to assume all Sikhs are all safe and sane, and premature to assume all American people are ignorant for turning in someone that is acting weird.
Anyone acting weird gets a call on them, be they Sikh, mooslum, Irish, Spanish, Australian, Canadian, Klingon. . .whatever.
Maybe he was acting as a provocateur, and was really acting suspiciously.
the name Singh reminded me
in 2001, 4 days after 9/11 some guy mistook a Sikh gas station owner as an arab muslim and murdered Balbir Singh Sodi in AZ. Very sad, just a decent family man killed by ignorance/fear.
That’s when I learned the difference of Sikh’s and Muslims, and how little I knew about a lot of things in our country and world.

It’s really embarrassing. After 9-11 there were grumblings around here concerning the Indian employees and contractors. I’d venture a guess that those people aren’t big fans of Muslims either.
