The story I heard is that the recipient is actually Cruz’s campaign aide who collects everything given to Cruz. In this case, everything was a child’s drawing and a $5 campaign donation.

Definitely looks like money, but I highly doubt Cruz, or any candidate, would be brazen enough to do something blatantly illegal with his own hands in a crowd surrounded by cameras. Probably something harmless, maybe a naive old lady put handed him a campaign donation and he passed it over to a campaign worker.

That sounds far more likely to me. If someone is going to assert a bribe, there has to be an arrangement of quid pro quo.
That relationship has not been substantiated. Not like Dunkin' Donald "donating to" pols and "doing bid'ness" in Noo Yawk.
