2016: The Year Americans Found Out Their Elections Are Rigged
Zero hedge ^ | 4-13-16

The 2016 election has been a wild ride, with two insurgent grassroots campaigns literally giving the political establishment a run for its money. But as the events of this presidential primary season play out, it’s becoming clear the U.S. election — and even more so, the presidential race — is a big scam being perpetrated on the American people.

Events from the last week have exposed the system as an illusion of choice and a farce. They have reinforced at least one study showing the U.S. is an oligarchy rather than a democratic republic

Your precinct captain should not have been one if she doesn’t understand the basic fundamentals of our government structure, much less how CO chooses their delegates. She didn’t even understand that they were supposed to be choosing delegates much less her lack of understanding of the process. Her whining illustrates her ignorance as does your pic highlighting what she said. Thank you for that, Gramps.

“Once, Colorado had a “straw” poll that was non-binding...This was the state law (which supercedes the RNC rule)...They cancelled that meaningless poll vote because they did not want the people’s voice to be heard...They only wanted their GOPe leaders to do the selection..”

So, are you telling me that Colorado had a state law that said the GOP had to have a straw poll? Really? And, you seem to be telling me that Colorado repealed that law so they could cancel the straw poll? Really? Why did Colorado repeal only the GOP straw poll and allow the Democrats to have a straw poll?

Another question. You’re telling me that the elimination of the straw poll was part of a conspiracy to block Donald Trump. The GOP rule which said all polls had to produce bound delegates was passed in 2012. Are you tell me that the GOP was conspiring in 2012 to block Trump? Really?

Now, quote the Colorado law that required a straw poll. I’m really curious about how a state government could dictate how the delegate selection process works for a political party. I’m fairly certain the courts would have difficulties with that.

The GOP allowed the “straw” poll...It was non-binding per Colorado...It was cancelled.

Did Colorado have a democratic “straw” poll? If so, you tell me why they cancelled the republican equivalent...

It was not a “conspiracy” to block anyone...The people of Colorado could’ve supported Cruz or Kasich...But we’ll never know because the people were silenced.

As far as state government selecting the delegates, that didn’t happen...It was the GOPe leaders in Colorado who selected the delegates, not the state government...

At any rate, the PEOPLE did NOT have the opportunity to voice who THEY preferred...

If you cannot see this, then you need to open your eyes...

re McCain.....isn't it odd that the year we had so many IMO great candidates that would have done very well...Rudy for one...Fred Thompson for another...we got McCain...

there was no way the average republican would have put him at the top of the ticket over the others...

the pubs seem to do little tricks here and there to usher whoever they want into the lead...

I really believe that they wanted the bammey to win...don't know why...but there was a reason to send a milk toast idiot bammy lover to be the pub presidential candidate...

Sarah was a mistake by McCain and the elites because they didn't realize she was a fighter and the people just about elected her if not for the financial shenanigans...

and this year?....either Trump is working for Hitlery to get her elected or Cruz is just working to get Hitlery elected himself...

either way we're going to get Hitlery no matter what...

and why?....it must be something big for the elites...

we had good electable people that we just tossed over the side...Rubio could have won...even Kascich...

but I'm not paying too much attention anymore because it's all gone folks...all gone...electing bammey was it....everything is gone...

“The GOP allowed the “straw” poll...It was non-binding per Colorado...It was cancelled.”

Straw polls are by definition non-binding. The GOP said any polls have to be binding. Do you see the problem?

“Did Colorado have a democratic “straw” poll? If so, you tell me why they cancelled the republican equivalent...”

The state of Colorado did not have a democrat ‘straw poll’. The Colorado democrat party had a straw poll. You’re the one who said straw polls were required by Colorado state law. I’m just curious as to how that law required a straw poll for one party but not the other.

“It was not a “conspiracy” to block anyone...The people of Colorado could’ve supported Cruz or Kasich...But we’ll never know because the people were silenced. As far as state government selecting the delegates, that didn’t happen...It was the GOPe leaders in Colorado who selected the delegates, not the state government...At any rate, the PEOPLE did NOT have the opportunity to voice who THEY preferred...”

The PEOPLE did select the delegates by meeting in caucus and electing their chosen delegates. The fact that there was no ‘straw poll’ is irrelevant to that fact.

It’s no different than the process we use to select a president. Technically, you don’t vote for a person to be president. You vote to chose an delegate (elector) to the electoral college who vote for the person to be president.

“If you cannot see this, then you need to open your eyes...”

When are you going to provide the cite for the Colorado law that required a straw poll?
