Rogers Communications, on the other hand, is highly reliant on the NHL contract financially. It worked great last season with five Canadian teams in the playoffs, but with no Canadian teams in the playoffs this season, many are projecting 75-plus percent drop in TV viewership for the NHL playoffs. That type of viewership drop could have horrible financial consequences, and could make Rogers' financial situation quite precarious.
Let’s see what happens before we declare Rogers DOA. They are the cellphone outfit up there ,right?
Go Pens!
Welcome aboard, WINGNUT!
I swear I watched every game this year and was thankful we didn’t have the same idiotic mistakes that troubled us last year!
Hoping Crow is truly good to go, and for all things sacred, send Bixy back to Rockford...ugh
Can’t wait! Kaner - first American born to win the Hart...how cool is that?!
I grew up in Grand Forks, so I have always cheered for them.
Most people know who wins the college BB championship, but most don't know my North Dakota Sioux (Hawks) won the national championship in Hockey. Go Blackhawks. Three Stanley Cups is not enough. 😀😆
Awesome. My family is from Fargo. There can never be enough Stanley Cups for the Blackhawks
Oh and its 6 Stanley Cups
:-)
Well, as a Red Wings fan, I should be happy just to see them there again (25 consecutive years now). I’ll hope for the best but not be too disappointed if another team like the ‘Hawks or Ducks take the Cup. Would not mind seeing the Caps or Bolts or Rangers win either.
Unfortunately for them, I think the team that lost in the Finals in 2014 may have been the best team they've had in the last 20 years. I see them entering a dry spell for a few years as Lundqvist gets older.
LOL!!
I've said for a couple of months that they might be the only team from the Eastern Conference who could win the Stanley Cup against any of the top 4-5 teams out West.
That game may be best remembered for the final call by legendary Buffalo announcer Rick Jeanneret: "This series is going back to where Jimmy Hoffa is ... back to the Meadowlands in New Jersey!" LOL.
Thank you! GO WINGS!!
LOL! I was at the game Brodeur broke the shutout record. We had seats on the glass so we could watch the Pens score no goals! He’s one of the all time greats.
I worked security at the Meadowlands for several of the Devils cups. I mainly worked the Winners Club. Being a private entrance there was not a lot of traffic and I was able to get to know a lot of the fans. They found out I was a Ranger fan and the back and forth became a regular thing. They really let me have it but it was good natured fun. Until they got drunk.
I also have to agree with you about the Rangers.
Well, tonight it starts. Ill be at Rangers @ Pens.
Apparently, Fleury is in, hell be rusty so the team will have to be defensively sharp.
lines -
Kunitz-Crosby-Hornquist, these are the worst wingers Crosby has entered a post season with. Kunitz is his best winger and hes seriously over the hill. Hornquist cannot handle the puck at all and is seriously poor at finishing (3rd in the league in high quality scoring chances, 68th in the league in goals). This is why Crosby and Letang have been a duo. Too often Crosbys right defenseman is his only option to make a play. I expect this line to be shut down for scoring (when facing top defenses) except when Crosby goes god-mode for short stretches.
Haglin-Bonino-Kessel, this line is set up for sucess. Kessel runs this show and hes a big game player. I expect great things.
Kunhackl - Cullen- Sheary, two fast kid wingers with wise old veteran Cullen. This has been a good line, a secret weapon BUT the Pens coaches in their infinate wisdom were practicing...Kunhackl-Cullen-Fehr. I think it still should be OK.
Sundqvist centering a rotation of Sestito/Bennett/Sheary for the fourth line - meh, better if they don’t see too much ice time. Another BUT...sometimes Crosby will be double shifted with these wingers and when he does they’ll be dangerous. (Crosby produces at a higher rate when away from his regular linemates.)
Rangers - My outside view of the Rags is that their best skater is injured and Lundquist isn’t at the top of his game. Who will they match Girardi against?
My guess, Pens win this series in six games.
