The Libertarian Republic has posted a video from Stossel which directly confronts the contention of Bernie Sanders supporters that the self-described socialist Senator from Vermont is not really a socialist.
The problem with this claim is that Bernie Sanders really is a full blown, top-down big government socialist who has gone on the record praising the dictators of Cuba and arguing that the bread lines in the old Soviet Union were superior to our free market grocery stores.
Bernie likes bread lines?
Bernie wants to turn the US into another utopia like Venezuela.
I suspect that he admires Stalin and Mao because they knew how to deal with dissenters.
The left knows that and that's why they like him. The idea of going off welfare and having to work for a living scares the heck out of a lot of people, so he's their man. With Bernie, they can spend the rest of their lives living in comfort studying advanced gay art theory and other fascinating topics. The evil rich (fools who still work) will pay their bills for them if Bernie were to be president (Hillary too).
This doesn’t bother the Millennials - they equate “socialism” as just another term for “free stuff”.
Until they found out Santa Claus isn't real.....
Indeed. Bernie honeymooned in the USSR to be close to his hero, Stalin, who was just completing the process of murdering 62,000,000 people. China was in worse shape at the time and so he missed meeting Mao who had murdered 153,000,000 people. But had they met Bernie would have been full of praise for his handling of dissenters.
Gotta wonder how all those yoots are going to like being out of work, in a ‘fully employed economy’ were the minimum wage is north of $20 hr and no one can afford to be in business since the hyper-inflation makes it difficult - especially for pampered snowflakes and metro-sexuals to push those heavy shopping carts filled with trillion dollar bills to the state-owned food store hoping they have enough money to buy a loaf of bread - if there is any left on the shelves.
Go Bernie!

I had a conversation with a skull full of mush niece a few years ago. I mentioned that her argument was very socialistic and she got a dreamy look in her eyes, flipped her hair back and moaned “aaaahhh, Socialism.”
For real. She then attempted to lecture me on how socialism is great, it’s just the leaders who are bad.
When I got the better of her in the discussion (wasn’t hard) she told my mom “Grandma, Make uncle Cyclotic quit arguing with me.” My mom set her straight that a discussion and an argument are two different things.
It was about 5 years until she spoke with me again.
She never even acknowledged her wedding present. She is a real socialist. Us “rich” uncles are required to ply the less fortunate with gifts. I won’t mention that her wedding was just a few months after I was unemployed for 6 months and had to move my family cross country for a job. We were just getting on our feet so the gift wasn’t big at all.
Bernie and Hillary are both socialists.
Their policies and viewpoints are identical or very, very similar on almost all issues.
Bernie looks “honest” whereas we all know Hillary’s corrupt and crooked as Hell.
That’s why so many D’s prefer Bernie.
Their choice is not so much political as it is just basic revulsion at Hillary’s dirty ways.
They’re gonna vote for a socialist, either way. Socialism is not their issue (they mostly subscribe to it anyway). The issue why Bernie’s doing so well and has such great support is simply that he isn’t Hillary/isn’t obviously corrupt.
Yes, and that’s exactly what a lot of his supporters, or likely supporters, want. Remember that woman at the anti-Trump protest in Kansas City who punched a police horse? She is a member of the Progressive Youth Organization, which provides a Marxist-Leninist reading list on its website. The CPUSA’s website, which had an analysis of Super Tuesday results, opined that even if Sanders is not nominated, he has energized the revolutionary movement for the future. The Chicago Teachers’ Union has endorsed Sanders. After the 2012 teachers’ strike, a number of CTU officials, including the Vice President, and a number of teachers, attended and participated in the Midwest Marxist Conference in Evanston, Illinois. Comments from the meeting saw the teachers’ strike as having to do with more than just school issues. It was also a part of a larger revolutionary movement. I guess it was no accident that the union has adopted red t-shirts. When teachers had a one-day strike last week, their demonstrations were a sea of red.
As the fellow from the Czech Republic said — that America’s problem was not Obama, but rather that there were enough Americans who would elect him — so it is with Sanders.
Bernie supporters know he is a socialist, that’s why they love him.
Anybody think we’re not going to have to fight our way out of the cattle cars?
Stalin and Mao’s dissenters didn’t have the ability to shoot back.
Correction:
Everyone Loves Santa Claus...Until they found out Santa Claus is making YOU his elves.
Socialism always looks good until one realizes it’s even *BETTER* for the guy ‘below’, economically. Then you become part of the ‘rich’ for which they are ‘entitled’ all their ‘needs’.
A point that Sanders truly hates. I’m sure that he is for the gradual elimination of the 2nd Amendment.
Yes! very good point.
As I say to my stupid liberal Friends, "What happens when YOU'RE The Rich Person?"
No Answer.
Also, I see graphics and crap on facebook "Your Taxes will only increase under Bernie if you bake 250,000 or more!!1!"
So, people SHOULD NOT try to make 250,000 year so you stay in a lower tax bracket? Talk about staying in your serf class!
Communism is socialism when you’ve run out of other people’s money.
Socialists won’t just admit “well that didn’t work”, they just move on to taking everything.
Hillary is a socialist, she thinks we’ll just keep taxing the rich.
Bernie is a communist, he knows taxes won’t cover it all and the state will just commandeer everything.
And he has already admitted as much in an accidentally candid response to a “where will the money come from” question.
