“Actually, the current predicament is more Daryl’s fault. Had he not selfishly left the camp on his revenge mission, drawing out the others to bring him back they might not be in this predicament. He didn’t think things through at all. They would have fared a lot better fighting the Negan group from behind their walls. In fact, it looks like Negan was just waiting for them to come out.”
It was also Daryl and Rick’s fault that the truck load of food was destroyed by chasing Jesus unnecessarily. That truck would have lasted them a long time and they wouldnt have been desperate to make a deal with the Hilltop.
Lots of things haven’t been well thought out. The attack on the Saviors, Carol’s leaving, Eugene’s plan to make cartridges without presses, dies, powder or primers, the current Hilltop trip, Rick killing the group’s only doctor, or letting Denise leave the compound unnecessarily, leaving Father Puzzy in charge of Alexandria’s defense, etc.
actually I'm hoping that turns out to be a good decision. The good Father seems to be turning into a solid warrior (like Carol did) and I hope that's the case. But you never know, he could turn out to be the weakling and snake he was in the beginning. These cliffhangers that leave you waiting until next season are the worse part of this show. ;-)
Making ‘good’ decisions is a talent that escapes most of the WD gang.
But that is what makes for the intense episodes. How much can they screw up and most of them still survive?

The final scene in last night’s episode reminded me of scene at Terminus where Rick, Glen, and a couple of others were captured, forced to their knees, leaning over the old bathtub — Season 5.
