If youre not careful, however, there is a chance that you could find yourself eating a full days serving (or more) of calories in a single meal. Using nutrition data from ESHA, HealthGrove found the most caloric burger at 20 popular chain restaurants.
HealthGrove ranked the list by number of calories for a serving size of one burger, and broke ties by selecting the burger with more grams of fat.
Next time youre craving fast food, avoid these burgers so you can satisfy your need for beef without adding significantly to your waistline.

I could eat two of those right now. I’d have to put a few fries in each one to add on a few more calories though.
Wouldn't splinters be a problem? At least you get a lot of fiber.
There’s a burger joint outside Richmond, in Henrico county (on Broad St.), that makes a five POUND hamburger. If you can finish it, it’s free.
Very good burger.
I’m having a senior moment...can’t think of the name...

Roy Rogers had the best roast beef sandwich ever.
If they had it their way, we’d be eating kale burgers while they eat real hamburgers. All those F & D grades they gave the burgers are so bogus.
Now my lunch calendar is set for the next 20 days.
It is the carbs in the bun and the fries that are the worst part of that fast food stuff-they are empty calories with little nutrition-I’ve eaten natural and healthy since childhood, and I avoid most carbs-my job requires physical work-I weigh the same as I did at 17.
The article has me jonesin’ for a burger, so I’m going to cook one on the grill this evening-a nice thick patty of 85% lean grass-fed beef from the butcher shop, some sharp cheddar real cheese, fresh onion slice and sliced serrano pepper on top-no tasteless, carb-filled bun to spoil the grilled meat flavor-with a little salad of baby greens, tomato and avocado with vinaigrette, I call it dinner-plenty of protein, “good” fat, raw veggie fiber and almost no carbs-costs about $3.00, too...
“Honestly, the carbs are what freak me out the most about those menu items.”
Indeed. Especially carbs from the synthetic buns made from bleached white flour and tons of chemicals.
toss the bread and what’s left in some of those burgers is pretty healthy.
Freddy’s Steakburgers will replace the bun with a lettuce wrap for no extra charge, so problem solved. Now I’m simply making my own “Freddy’s Steakburgers” with fresh ground chuck, superthin patties cooked hot and fast, BUT with the addition of LOTS of chopped white onion and seasonings to the ground beef. Yum!
Yum-we have similar taste in burgers...
Notice they didn’t try to compare burgers of the same weight. Obviously the Hardees 2/3 pound burger will have more calories than the McDonalds 1/4 pound burger.
In that particular episode, Adam recruited a team of 40 Detroiters to help him take this monstrosity down, including a KISS cover band, a roller derby team, professional wrestlers, firefighters and cops.
Before my most recent quest for weight loss (55+ pounds lost since Nov 19), cheeseburgers with fries were a guilty pleasure of mine.
This post really struck me because I used to go to 5 Guy Burgers often and get two double bacon cheeseburgers and two orders of fries. That one meal added up to close to 4,000 calories with 219 grams of fat and 342 carbs! That was just one meal not including whatever I had to drink with it.
Yes, the innocent looking 5 Guys bacon cheeseburger below is nearly 1,000 calories.
For comparison, my typical daily consumption since the Nov 19 diet today is about 2,100 calories with maybe 100 grams of fat and under 80 carbs. (I'm 6' 3" male)
I've only had one hamburger since Nov 19 but now that grill season is almost here, I'm sure to have more. I'll probably just stick to the burger, a slice of cheese, some bacon, sliced jalapeno and wrap it all up in lettuce or something. Instead of fries, I'll have sautéed mushrooms, brussel sprouts, garlic and olive oil. I estimate that total meal to be no more than 500 calories.
Amazing how unhealthy the fast food burgers can be.
I’d take a good Reuben over a hamburger any day of the week.

It looks like a tire between 2 couch cushions.
That sounds really good!
If you can find ground bison or ostrich the fat content is quite a bit lower and it tastes like beef.
