...Now, as Carson overtakes Trump as the GOP front-runner, it appears Trump is getting help from a media outlet known for ending presidential candidacies: the National Enquirer. Earlier this month, the Enquirer published a cover story on Carson headlined “Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patient’s Brain!” The article called Carson a “White House wannabe” and claimed he “brandished a scalpel like a meat cleaver!” It went on to quote angry former patients saying he botched surgeries that left them disfigured and in pain; one patient who sued Carson said he forgot to remove a surgical sponge from her brain after a procedure. “His presidential campaign should be dead on arrival!” Enquirer reporter Sharon Churcher wrote.
Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. “They’re very close,” said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. “He’d make it exciting and win awards!”
This person also said that Trump’s campaign was a source for the article: “His campaign provided information that was used,” he explained. A Trump friend said that in the days leading up to the article’s publication Trump was telling people that Carson “had a lot of medical malpractice suits” and “almost killed a guy.”

The CEO of that trash magazine’s last name is Pecker. He and Trump are friends. that’s not vulgarity, that’s the truth.
I am not talking about Cruz or ever endorsed him. You claimed Fred and his son raised significant funds for Reagan. I have never seen any proof of that. Present proof. A picture together is not proof.
LOL! Pecker is pushing the whole thing to do what tabloids do--make money! Cruz is the last man standing in opposition to Trump, so the big guns come out.
Cruz will refuse to attack Bill Clinton stories.
National Enquirer knows Trump is the best guy from their point of view to run.

Reagan had warmed up the American people because of his familiarity with every age group. The WWII generation remembers his movies. The baby boomers remembered him as a genial host to Death Valley Days. All for the GE Theater when he would come to a family’s living room and be a welcome presence.
To me his ideology was not the reason for his victories but his personal relationship to the People. Others have espoused his ideas and gone nowhere. Until Trump NONE had the same ability to understand and control the damage of the media.

Yes, you have correctly determined why Pecker is pushing the story. Congratulations. Pecker is not Trump, and there is no proof that their interests align (”they are friends” is not an argument).
And please don’t try to claim that the media is pro-Trump, I’m not interestsd in dying of laughter.

Has Cruz sued yet? I don’t think the NE would go so far without bona fides. It opens itself up to at least six people.
To me NE is not far below the NYT in the media hierarchy. I certainly would believe a story there before one in the Times. Now I do confess I hate the media almost as much as Islam so..

There was a post on FR last night from Vanity Fair I believe. In the article it stated that Fred and Donald were Reagan backers and that Donald lent Reagan his jet so he could fly up to Albany in time to get on the ballot.
