I have been through several of the Free Republic "Silly Seasons", aka, the Republican presidential primaries. Every one of them is rough, but this is the worst one of all.
I'm guilty of being a dog, but even this dog can learn new tricks. Here is my proposal:
LET NO ONE SPEAK ILL OF ANYONE ELSES CANDIDATE. ONLY POST POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT *YOUR* CANDIDATE.
I think that would just about eliminate the rancor.
We won't get 100% participation. But heck, if we got even a fraction of that, Free Republic would be a lot nicer a place, in this, the worst of all "Silly Seasons".
I pledge to do this. Who else is on board? Chime in!

I’m kinda checked out at this point.
IMHO, the action is early. You place your bets then, and the game starts being played. All the late-comers are pretty well dialed in by the early setting of the table.
I’m pleased that my guy got to the finals. But I’m most pleased that regardless of the outcome, the Uniparty LOSES!
I can take either of the top two guys. The others, well .... I’ll try to keep in the tenor of the post and stop now.
