A couple days ago we reported that team Kasich was facing a court challenge to their ballot access in Pennsylvania. Specifically, the plaintiff in the case alleged that Team Kasich failed to file the required 2,000 valid signatures to appear on the ballot in Pennsylvania. The Kasich campaign filed 2,184 signatures, but the plaintiff alleged that well over 184 of those signatures were invalid and/or fraudulent for a whole host of reasons.

The guy was just in this race to take Ohio. He is not a serious candidate. He was a splitter for Bush.
I’m not going to diss Kasich, even though I would never vote for the guy.
The challenge to his signatures came from the Republican Establishment in this state.
A Rubio supporter filed the challenge and with Senator Pat Toomey in the tank for Marco, its obvious that the GOPe will try to rig this state for Rubio in the primary on April 26th.
The GOPe already has the separate delegate election with all district delegate candidates listed uncommitted and cronies running with name recognition in the districts.
Trump or Cruz can only get 14 delegates bound to them on a first ballot from a popular vote win.
54 other delegates are picked in the tricky election in the 18 congressional districts with all candidates listed by name but no presidential candidates name is attached to them.
The campaigns will have to have 18 separate campaigns in the congressional districts to let people know the three names they need to vote in for delegate.
Based on the lists of candidates I’ve read I figure Trump has the biggest slate running in the districts, although I can pick through the names to know who his supporters are.
“The guy was just in this race to take Ohio. He is not a serious candidate. He was a splitter for Bush.”
Ding Ding, we have a winner!
This would be a big bombshell, if true.
Is it confirmed?
He should be excused. He can’t count that high unless it’s campaign dollars from crony capitalists.
I’ll diss Kasich. He’s a career politician, 9 terms in the House, thru the revolving door to Lehman where he served as investment banker and managing director. They paid him $600k in 2008 alone. Lehman had board access and served as key member on the ‘deal’ team. From Lehman to Governor and who’s paying for all those elected offices.
But his biggest offense is probably NAFTA and his support now for TPP. These politicians are killing us or more accurately, these donors are killing us. The only cure is to get them out of the system.
I have been hearing a little about this for awhile. It may be in more than one state too.
Not a fan of Kasick at all, but I think just running should get you on the ballot. Let the voters decide on primary day. I think collecting signatures is a waste of time and money. Also very old way of thinking.
Like I said I’m not dissing Kasich but you have presented a pretty bad resume and add to it “Fox News host” to give us a sense of his GOPe background.
Just not acceptable for my vote in an election.
He never intended to go to Pennsylvania, because he was never in this race to win. Just another disruption, bought and paid for.
Such a rigged system to choose our leader. I hate both parties - nothing but corrupt.
Every ballot would have 100 candidates. The petition hurdle is not insurmountable.
Kasich’s team failed him, if they let that happen. A candidate should not have to worry about those details this far into the game. Heads will privately be rolling. I hear he has a bad temper already.
Thanks. I didn’t think about that. I self delete my post (wish I could).
The signature requirement here in PA only sets unapproved candidates up for legal challenges from the GOPe.
For President of the United States and US Senate, 2,000 signatures were required in PA.
But the Republican Establishment snuck in a special rule for signatures for US Senate, signatures from all 67 counties in the state.
The trick there was to prevent any primary challenger to Senator Pat Toomey getting on the GOP ballot.
Toomey has been anti-Second Amendment twice after shootings in Connecticut at the school and in Charleston, SC at the church.
The GOPe protects him in the primary and the inside the beltway NRA will tell us to vote for him in the fall.
since Kasich believes in brokered conventions in the event no one reaches the magic delegate number, I believe he should not be on the PA ballot because he didn’t not reach the magic number for registration.
