Rush has been the target of such tactics. He filled in for Pat Sajak once back when Sajak had a talk show and he experienced the same thing Trump did.
In Rush's case, I think the show continued but the studio audience had been removed.
I don't know if he was even a national figure yet. If he was, it was in its infancy.

I think at this point it’s safe to say that Fox News and talk radio has lost half of its listeners. I’m so done. Can’t listen to the phony conservatives any more. The real question is whether Rush wants to retire or not. People will give him one chance to get this correct. Let him support Cruz, but let him do the same thing as the decent Cruz folks did here. Be better than their candidate and blame the riot on Soros and Bernie supporters.
