The man known to millions of cable TV viewers as Chumlee on the reality show "Pawn Stars" was being held late Wednesday in a Las Vegas jail following his arrest on felony weapon and drug charges.

Austin Lee Russell, 33, was taken into custody when officers serving a search warrant in a sexual assault investigation found methamphetamine, marijuana and at least one gun at his southwest Las Vegas home, police said in a statement.

I’ve never seen the show. But I think this show contributes to the cultural decline.

Why?

Because the name “Pawn Stars” is an obvious take off on the term “porn stars”. Whoever came up with that name thought he was being clever . And whoever agreed to the title obviously sees nothing objectionable with such a title of a show.

The sexual assault investigation is ongoing. The search warrant was executed after probable cause based on victim’s statements. During the search (with warrant) meth was found...illegal drugs and firearms constitute a felony... Think man.

ME TOO! I stopped watching because of those 2 losers...I would have fired that worthless scumbag "Chum" years ago.

Same here. Every episode starts and ends the same, Ricks son and Chum site around insulting Rick and calling him an idiot. I only watch episodes off the DVR so I can skip the opening and closing of the show where they are only on screen to arrogantly insult Rick. I also skip past any part where Rick's son is working the deal. I do not care if a customer walks in with the Ark of the Covenant, if Corey is working the deal, I skip it. I can not stand his smart ass disrespectful smirk and his demeaning attitude.

I have never understood why the producers of the show want to showcase the star being constantly insulted by a cocky arrogant son and his dope head idiot friend.

“...and access to women...”

Perhaps, but only if he pays for it with lots of cash.

This show is one of the reason I seldom watch the “History” Channel anymore.

Why would a sexual assault require a search? Why not just an arrest?

My guess is that it was an evidentiary search warrant looking for specific evidence they had probable cause to believe would be in the house.

Was he forbidden from having a weapon as per a felony conviction?

It could be that, or it could be that Nevada has laws that prohibit possession of firearms if you are also in possession of certain drugs, like methamphetamine. Just a guess.

Yes, for the most part, the History Channel has gone to the dumps.

I enjoyed it for a while but it got boring fairly quickly.

It does seem that the “History Channel” has devolved into shows about tattooed men in Vegas.

Is there a law against having firearms in Nevada
Maybe it was an illegal firearm. There are such things, even in Nevada.

If a firearm (any firearm) is in the proximity of meth, then yes, it is in violation of federal firearms laws.

I couldn't agree more. The first time he called me "my man" I'd deck him.

If you have guns + drugs, you are in trouble.

If you have guns + a lot of drugs, you are in a lot of trouble.
