Decorated veterans are going after Donald Trumps character in hard-hitting new Florida ads designed to drive down the Republican presidential front-runners popularity to stop him winning the crucial winner-take-all state on March 15.
In new attack ads, released by conservative nonprofit American Future Fund within a multimillion-dollar rotation, two veterans, Afghanistan Special Forces Commander Lt. Col. Michael Waltz and retired Vietnam pilot and prisoner of war Lt. Col. Tom Hanton, hit Trump for dodging the draft in Vietnam, serving only himself, and for criticizing Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for being captured during the Vietnam War.
American Future Fund spokesman Stuart Roy said in an email to The Hill Saturday that the group is swapping out its current ads in the Florida Panhandle for the new veteran ads and said it "will be adding new money there on Monday, as well."
The Panhandle is full of active and retired military. Think Eglin Air Force Base, Pensacola Naval Air Station, Hulburt Field, Naval Support Activity Panama City, and Tyndall Air Force Base.
In one of the ads, Waltz tells viewers to put a stop Trump's campaign.
Donald Trump hasnt served this country a day in his life, essentially dodged the draft in Vietnam through multiple deferments, Waltz says, speaking directly into the camera. All Donald Trump has served is himself. Dont let Donald Trump fool you. Look into his real record and stop Trump now."

“Scroll down the the 7th paragraph and it starts telling about all the deferments he got. “
All of them legit. I went through a draft physical, and it was pretty through.
They apparently are for either Sanders or Hillary.
I saw 250 men of my age come back home in boxes every week fighting a war that wasn't fought to win allowing the enemy to be supplied in an open harbor with no fear of destruction. Suicide patrols into the jungle at night led by 90 day 2nd LT wonders who didn't have clue. I dodged it for 4 years with a college deferment that wasn't available to everybody. And at the end of the day after our troops were out the democrats pulled the rug out under South Vietnam who promised air support when N.Vietnam broke the cease-fire agreement by invading the South.
;-)
Been there done that, fought and Bled for this Country, and This Viet Nam Vet and thousands just like me Support TRUMP. The Medical and School deferments are a common thing from the Viet Nam war. We have no problem with it just like GWs National Guard stint. The bone spurs kept a lot of People out from the era . A lot went to Canada that stings worse them all of them together.Unless you have standing then shut your traps about it.
Ironically one of these ads was put out by a Mitt Romney PAC.
Why don’t people read the posts in the discussion before they post??
Wow.
I kind of doubt that that was their mindset, but that's just me.
For whatever the hell it's worth, the thought about public support and USG support was VERY MUCH on our minds in GWI. Thankfully, it was very much different for us.
Did you, by the way, serve in Viet Nam?
Cruz was running some lying ads in Louisiana last week.
Lying by omission accomplishes the same level of disloyalty that the liar John Kerry established at his Winter soldier false witness fraud.
The liar, coward and war criminal was Kerry himself, and not those he accused.
HEY ! I resemble that remark !!
:)
Dirty Romney
Any candidate who aligns with Romney is just as bad.
If deferments we’re not ok, they would not have them.
Did Cruz volunteer to serve in the military?
Canadian or American?
In 1974 they still had a ‘supplemental draft system’ in place by lottery birthdate although the draft had ended. My birthday was #8 on the list so I would have been drafted no doubt.
Cruz is not a scam artist
Guys did not get out of the draft by “lying about bone spurs’. If it had been that simple, few would have been drafted. There had to medical evidence discovered by or verified by Selective Service physicians.
