” but this one seems legit.”
Bull! It’s not remotely legit! Have you had a draft physical?

Really? Since you like to make it appear that you are a medical expert on Trump's medical records, please provide the evidence supporting your diagnosis and resultant supposition that "He lied about having bone spurs to avoid the draft."
We'll wait.

I come from about 120 years of Marines before I enlisted, thank you very much. But I can’t help when I was born...
And re: the rest of your tripe, go back and read my posts here and you’ll see that you are mistaken.

If I read your article correctly, his number never came up? He was randomly assigned number 356 out of 366, and since it was the first year of the lottery (they did 4 years on one draw), he kept that number for the 4 years of his eligibility.
Who, in that era, would have insisted their son volunteer instead?
Or, did I miss the issue entirely?

So he told the draft board he had bone spurs, and bribed them to go along with it? Are you sure? How do you know this?

No that seems to be the crux of the matter. The issue really comes down to the definition of draft dodger. See my 54.

That’s why we need to take care of our Vets, show them respect, make sure the healthcare we promised them is as good as we can make it. That’s one of the promises that Trump has made which I believe is central to who he is and to what he will accomplish.
We send young men into harms way give them experiences that will haunt them and isolate them; we need to see them through the aftermath and not abandon them. The difficulties returned servicemen have getting their benefits & care is a National disgrace.

Identify the rest of the “tripe”.
No one can help when they were born, but anyone can refrain from piling scorn on someone else.

And are you in charge of the qualifications for draft dodger?
To: Bubba Gump Shrimp
I was serving MAA duty in a barracks (I was waiting for separation myself after a 4 year term of duty) in New London CT when Ford signed the order allowing all of the (Vietnam Era) draft dodgers to come back from Canada. Most disgusting thing I had to do in my service was given these ass-wipes a place to sleep while they were processing. I'd sooner forgive a deserter than a draft dodger. At least the deserters were running from something real.
I guess our experiences were different. Many of these disgusting clowns are today running our country today as part of the federal workforce and were responsible for the discrimination veterans received after the war. No, they are probably on cushy government retirements.

This is a brain fart of yours, what proof do you have and why should we listen to you making up things to attack Trump out of thin air?
The facts in the case are that he had a medical cause of ineligibility. The armed forces gets to decide if you are fit for duty and they don’t take the draftee’s word for anything.

One can search for a person in the records, if the SS# and DoB is known: https://www.sss.gov/Home/Verification National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has sole responsibility of ownership, storage, and retrieval of Selective Service records for men born before 1960. Consequently, NOTE: Selective Service can no longer access any of these records.

The guy behind this, Nick Ryan, is behind the American Future Fund, and Concordia Group LLC (in Des Moines) and GlobalMarketing & Direct mail..
He seems to have backed Santorum, Huckabee, and maybe Chris Christie.
Don't know if he got money from (say) Cruz or Romney...or if this is on his own hook.

Trump talks about Pershing, Patton, MacArthur. He didn’t consider McCain a hero just because he was a POW.

Trump got a few temporary deferments, as did many thousands of others at the time.
When the Draft lottery was held for men of his birth year, his birthday, June 14, was very high (353) and he was virtually immune from the draft ever after.
Real draft dodgers fled to Canada, elsewhere, or went to jail. Well, at least one simply refused orders and later became President.
Trump was strictly speaking not a draft dodger and those who say else are either ignorant or lying.
