Ted Cruz has rejected the idea of stopping Donald Trump's presidential campaign at a brokered convention, saying the move would lead to a 'revolt' among voters.
...
Cruz likely has his own reasons for wanting to avoid a brokered convention, however, as it is unlikely that he would receive the backing of many superdelegates, once released from the candidate they are now tied to.
...
In the case of a brokered convention, Rubio and Kasich likely have the most to gain - and unsurprisingly they are the two candidates thought to be preparing for just such an event.

Well it is a little early to worry about VP picks except for the fun of it. Just because I say I think something is going to happen doesn’t always mean I want it to happen. But politics is all about conciliation that’s why you end up with these strange VP picks.
With Trump being so controversial he is absolutely going to have to pick somebody the party likes for VP. And for his own purposes the VP needs to be very well connected to the legislature. I don’t see how he gets away with a conservative for VP. It will have to be a moderate like Kasich. I guess we will see soon enough.
EXXXXACTLY. Thanks for your reply, infowarrior.
Good point, BigBob. ...The more the convention becomes Dealing For Delegates the more it falls right into Trumps wheelhouse. Yes, Cruz is coming from a heavy Establishment, Golden Sacks, Princeton, Harvard, George Bush administration background. Makes you wonder if Cruz was the GOPe's designated Tea Party rebel. I hate to think that, but regardless, he would not be a fully independent agent if elected. I also thought his attacks at the last debate were unbecoming of a principled conservative and fair fighter. He wasn't nearly as bad as Rubio though. The more the attacks get personal and petty, the more visible become the strings attached to their arms and shoulders.

Nice. Good intelligence for warriors to digest.
“Pls direct me to that quote.”
Well, there you go again with your TRUSTED words.
Rubio has zero chance, while Cruz has an slim but outside chance of upsetting Trump.
Just smart politics, once Rubio drops out, I don't see Rubio supporters going to Trump.
Yes, you are the King, George!
LOL That’s queen, Dahling. But only among my dogs.
Actually, even that’s only titular. My last remaining Eskie girl is the acting Queen of the household.
Would that be Hagman guys (There are 2 of them? I can’t remember his first name- starts with a D, I think) from the Canada Free Press?
If it’s that Hagman, semi-good/ semi-woo. . . well not *literally* woo, but kinda borderline Alex Jonesy. Imho. IIRC. Haven’t seen that person’s writing recently.
Boy, I hope that’s not true. I am SICK of our cops getting killed.
I’ll dig around.
Doug- Doug Hagmann. He’s the *founder* of Canada Free Press.
The only current link on page 1 google is Before It’s News- looks like he has a book coming out (didn’t click, just read summary) soon.
Yep, Alex Jones, Steve Quayle, Before It’s News. . . I’m thinkin more woo than good.
I wouldn’t/ won’t worry about it yet.
(A few protesters at Trump aside, seems like things are settling down a little. That may not be true. Need to look up Colin Flagherty lately)
That probably came across as more ‘disparaging’ than I meant it.
‘’Conspiracy theory’’ ain’t what it was reputed to be. Too much has actually happened.
Nevermind me. (Seriously) Sometimes, I’m too much of a skeptic.
Gee, how did I miss that? :- ) I think it's best if the beasts rule the house. We have 5 cats in charge at our house. Speaking of beasts, did you did my post a couple days ago on Trumpazine? It's an offbeat article with quite a few cute and funny pictures of cats and dogs. Cheers. |
Rubio is the one staying in to do the GOPe's bidding, not Cruz. Cruz just won Kansas and Maine. I don't think he'll be the nominee but I can't blame him for holding out hope that he might turn things around.
