My sister bought one to celebrate the day she retired. I bought her a cake and candles, and we waited for the clock to countdown to zero. Nothing happened. What a letdown!

Cool, and thanks. I have family outside of Knoxville. Guess I know what I will be doing next August.

Nice maps, and thank you for posting. Looks like I may plan a little drive to a favorite camping spot for the occasion.

The back of the bus is like an eclipse isn’t it? people are just like ‘the sun, where’s the sun?’
It’s like this huge metal @$$ taking up the whole wind shield of your car.
When it pulls out it even sounds like a fat uncle trying to get out of a sofa.

Thanks for posting. My brother’s place is in a 3+ minute zone in MO. I think I will plan to visit him that week.

Excellent, thanks so much for this. Last total eclipse I saw was the one in March 1970, when I was 13. I think I might plan a family vacation in the NC mountains.
Is there a zoomable Google map of the eclipse path somewhere?

Yes, quite a few. Google “2017 solar Eclipse” and you’ll find a host of web sites.

I’ll be over. Have some beer on ice.

Then, almost seven years later the crossing out of America is completed.

Looks like you’d get a really good view from Kentucky State Prison at Eddyville.
I don’t plan to be there though.
A boat on Kentucky Lake or Lake Barkley would be nice though.

Unfortunately April 8, 2024, is a Monday. May have to call in sick that day to go see the eclipse. It would make me sick to miss it.
