Say it ain't so. Why do you have to mix sports and politics?

Much more toxic than Donald Trump are the obnoxious fumes emanating from the Times. Fortunately, no one reads it so we’re safe.

Golf and politics don’t mix. Keep your opinion to yourself.

The liberals believe that those who disagree with them do so out of hate, making them evil.
Social justice warriors then have permission to bully people who dissent from their laundry list of views.
Not only will they yell or digitally mob the dissenter online or in person, but seek to send them thousands of hateful texts, send them hate mail, call their employers or en masse harass the social media platform of the employer to get them fired. They’ll flag all of your social media posts as hate speech/unacceptable and try to get social media accounts shut down, cutting you off from the modern world.
The goal is to emotionally destroy the dissenter through verbal/social assaults, destroy them socially by cutting them off from social media platforms, hurt them economically by costing them their jobs.

This is a case of conservatives doing the same thing, albeit to someone so rich the economic assault hardly matters.

I know Trump is not a "true conservative," but he has all the same enemies a "true conservative" would have.

The same people who hate Trump hate Cruz.

I prefer Cruz, but I'll take Trump over a Milt Romley or Juan McQueeg or Bob Dull or another NWO Bush.

The sports reporters are the only people having the vapors. No golf fan gives a damn.

Hmmmm . . . so far there 215 comments. I only read the most recent and all appear to be disgusted with the article. Example of one I kinda enjoyed:

Really? It is simply disgusting that anyone would suggest a boycott based on political views. Before you go after Trump why not dump the association with the Serial Philandering, rapist, disbarred lawyer and convicted Perjurer, Slick willic Clinton ... he is a convicted criminal , where is the outrage there you hypocrits.

politics of personal destruction.

THOUGHT CRIME! THOUGHT CRIME! THOUGHT CRIME!

Trump is the first republican candidate people have no worry about discussing in public. (contrast traditional candidates Romney and McCain were an embarrassment)

Anybody who mixes Twitter and golf should be banned from the game.

I hope the PGA tears down the walls around it’s events. As Mr. Morfit explains Trump is a xenophobe for wanting walls.

FWIW, NBC carries the coverage of the WGC - Cadillac Championship. One of the on-course commentators is Peter Jacobsen, a former PGA pro.

He does an incredible impersonation of Donald Trump. He did one last year that was funny, but that was before Trump’s entrance into the race. It will be interesting to see if he does one this year.

Since the subject of Trump and his golf courses came up, I have a question.

There was a rule about what investments a president can keep after taking office. This was to keep a president from ruling based on what helped his own investments.

Could this force Trump to have to sell off his golf courses and casinos?

I’m no legal expert, but I think there are ways to divest or move assets into entities where Trump can cede direct control to others — possibly his kids or other executives.
