Trump isn't going to end crony capitalism. He just wants to be the biggest crony.

His positions on things like Eminent Domain and his recent statements about clamping down on speech he doesn't like ought to scare the daylights out of anyone who believes in individual liberty.

Remember, this is the guy who threatened to sue an opponent for daring to play Trump's own statements in a commercial.

If you only respond here with negative things about Trump as a person, or his past actions, you’re not really responding to my post: I am asking if you think we have a free country, following the constitution, where we have the leisure to vote for the guy with the most conservative personal creds?

He was threatening to sue because Cruz said that this is what the Don believes NOW.

That is a lie.

Personally, I’m sick of the media picking our candidates for us with half-truths and out-right lies. The 4th estate is completely corrupt.

It’s not just about politics. It’s about the private citizen that gets caught in their snare. Many, MANY lies are ruined because of the media in this day and age. Look at the dentist who went lion hunting. Look at the cops who’re smeared before the facts come out and have their careers ruined. Remember how many innocent Americans have had their faces splashed all over prime-time news after a mass shooting when the media gets the wrong guy?

There is no more ‘fair and balanced journalism’. The media doesn’t report facts. EVERYTHING is tainted now.

Yes. They should be held responsible for bad reporting. They destroy lives every damn day.

There is so much more wrong than crony capitalism in this country. Trump was never on the receiving end of crony capitalism, he was always on the paying end. If you want to be successful in business, that is just the reality. He is not responsible for the system, but he was savvy enough to play the system to his benefit. However, you seem to forget that in the process one learns exactly how the system is played. Only such a person is capable of then effectively attacking the structure of crony capitalism. How it derives its power and how it is used. I get it, you think he has nefarious motives. Others see him as an agent of good. There is no way to confirm or deny either belief. Until he is placed in a position of power it remains nothing more than speculation from either side of the belief spectrum.

Trump has not only shown a willingness to fight the establishment, of which the top tier we can see is the GOPe, however, they are really just doing the bidding of the real establishment. But he is also willing to take on the fourth column, as well as, insidious political correctness. Ted Cruz could not even begin to attack these structures. Cruz also would have been unable to effectively attack immigration issues. In reality Ted Cruz's appeal does not command support much beyond those of us who embrace conservatism. If Ted ever really had a legitimate chance he would be leading in the polls. He isn't because the support is not there. You may think it's all because of Trump. That if he were absent Ted Cruz would be leading. I have my doubts that is the case, simply because I think the conservative portion of the base is smaller than we need to be successful. Time to be honest about that reality.

Eminent Domain exists for a very good reason, and one that does need to be used judiciously. Not necessarily sparingly, but definitely judiciously. While it's ttrue hat Trump benefited from the use of eminent domain, it is also true that many others also benefited. I am not referring to other big cats, but rather ordinary folks who benefited from jobs created as a result of that eminent domain.

Statements are just that, statements. Trying to pin down someone on statements is a fool's errand because many people make statements for affect rather than in sincerity. Threatening an opponent is just part of the political process. Trump knows he can't win a case like that, but perhaps he can make his opponent blink..

Bottom line, this is the big leagues. You either play to win or you don't bother becoming engaged in the first place. Trump is without question in for the win. Hopefully those of us who support him are correct and his detractors incorrect. It really is our only true shot though. For better or worse Trump is the one. A sad reality perhaps, but a reality nonetheless. Let's pray for the best, and if our prayers are not answered than a higher authority is sending a very clear message.
