All these threads each week go up: why are you actually voting for Trump? Can't anyone explain to me why you, so many of you, hear our heartfelt careful explanations, and never even respond or register that it might be so that our elections are an establishment game?
Isn't it obvious by now that our government is more responsive to a sort of cabal of powerful global entities than to our aged parchment under glass in DC? Our Constitution IS our country. Our representatives all the way up to President (especially President) pretty much ignore it.
For a long time, we, the People have been presented, red, white and blue streamers included, with elections every four years to help us feel a part of the system. But our choices have been covered by this cabal, with bought or controllable candidates on each side of the Uniparty. Sure, we can choose, but only among these. Any true candidate not owned by the uniparty already (or a "sure sale" after the election) is painstakingly removed from the menu by their subservient media.
The media work for whoever controls everything, and it sure isn't a government by, for, and of the people. Do you really think it still is? Part of the reason they don't teach civics in schools any more, not just because they don't want Americans to know about their Gd-given rights, is because students would LAUGH at the lies in our founding documents at this point. How could they not? Clearly we are serfs to a ruling entity at this point, and you cannot argue otherwise.
We haven't had a Presidential candidate feared BY THE RULERS since Ronald Reagan. Right now, the greedy powers that be own Hillary and Rubio, and though it's a long shot for him to win the nom, they believe they can get to and own Cruz as well. They can't get to Trump. His family is independently wealthy and protected. He is not playing along with their lying rule over us, and they are scared and vicious in their attempts to stop him. They also have little sway over Sanders but they figure they will knock him out.
The game they play on little old We, the conservative People is: Stick with your principles. Vote your principles. Find the perfect conservative and vote for him.
It's a useless game. They have the end covered. It is to make us feel good. It doesn't affect their election. Not voting for the guy who might be able to beat back their takeover, who might lead a new generation of people ready to fight rather than just suck at their phony teats, only helps them.
Do you really think that when you die you will be rewarded for voting for a candidate for President who had no chance of winning but clung to a religion, didn't cheat on his spouse, and seemed to match more conservative criteria, over voting for someone to free the country from serfdom to an elite cabal?
Playing the game of poking a chad for the most conservative seeming person on the ballot must make us feel so clean and holy. But it hurts the dream of our founders who wanted us to actually live under our Constitution to the point of even dying for it should we need to.
I choose freedom. Trump isn't perfect and he doesn't fit inside the conservative box. The box, at this point, is just a distraction. Trump can free us from some of this enslavement. Even the wall alone is a step back toward our Constitution. We need a strong, fearless leader. He is risking a very cushy retirement and indeed his very life to do this for us (probably more for his grandchildren, but, yes, for US too). No other independently resourced American has stepped forward to try and save us. He's our only chance.
It's not about "who is more conservative." It's about not falling for that trick to lull us into continued serfdom.
Explain to me how I am wrong, please, because I can't see it. Why stick to a holy box of principles over freedom, over the Constitution?
Unfortunately Trump is selling his soul to the establishment. He is NOT who he is telling us he is; he is a big gov’t liberal and we’re on our way to exactly what we’ve been in the last 7+ years.
Well said. This is what I have been thinking as well.
I like what Trump is going to do with immigration, national security, the economy and trade. With out those things getting done, nothing else matters. Trump is the only candidate with the right platform to fix those issues and is not owned by big money donors.
His positions on things like Eminent Domain and his recent statements about clamping down on speech he doesn't like ought to scare the daylights out of anyone who believes in individual liberty.
Remember, this is the guy who threatened to sue an opponent for daring to play Trump's own statements in a commercial.
You offer what evidence to this effect other than your conjecture?
Trump for President.
You say Trump is selling his soul to the establishment. How so? If anything, his life trajectory looks more like he is moving away from the establishment, especially since he is no longer working for his company (it’s his kids’ now) and trying to work to make things better for EVERYBODY here. I don’t see a movement toward evil for his own gratification. Let’s say he’s probably had enough personal gratification. He’s not out for more money or sex for himself any more.
“He is NOT who he is telling us he is; he is a big govt liberal and were on our way to exactly what weve been in the last 7+ years.”
I guess it’s time for us to vote Third Party then...because if Trump doesn’t win outright, the GOPe gets to select our candidate at the convention and, FOR SURE, it will be someone like Romney or Jeb (as neither Rubio, nor Cruz will be able to amass enough delegates for a majority, at this point).
I don’t want to be responsible for that, which is why I’m voting for Trump.
Go play in your sand box.
If you only respond here with negative things about Trump as a person, or his past actions, you’re not really responding to my post: I am asking if you think we have a free country, following the constitution, where we have the leisure to vote for the guy with the most conservative personal creds?
“Unfortunately Trump is selling his soul to the establishment.”
Oh boy, better tell Senator McConnel. He’s telling this years running senators to run negative adds about Trump, if Trump is the nominee.
IMHO, this says it all....we wonder no more why pols are afraid to take him on.
All that time he was donating, Trump was not running for anything and used politicians to get business done. The calculating pols knew this, so Trump was on the politicians/ hit list as a sucker who/d write a check, no questions asked.
These same pols are running scared now....
I would not be surprised if the candidates confided in Donald about their love life, spilled damaging opposition research WRT their opponents and damning stuff about well-known pols---in order to get bigger donations.
They/re wishing wish now they hadn't said the things they did....b/c Donald knows plenty.
The establishment is big government and that’s exactly what DT is. He likes taking property from private citizens if it fits his fancy, he likes gov’t mandates forcing us into a healthcare system not of our choice, he likes TARP, he’s supported by Christie (big fat gov’t guy), he likes funding abortion factories.
Need me to report any other stuff? We, as conservatives, are being BLINDED by this guy.
