A small town bakery owned by a Christian family is under siege after they declined to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.
Edie and David Delorme own the Kern's Bake Shop in Longview, Texas.
The Delormes are also devout Christians and they run their bakery according to the tenets of their religious beliefs.
That became a problem on Feb. 17 when Ben Valencia and Luis Marmolejo requested the bakers make a cake for their upcoming wedding.
She offered to provide the gay couple with a list of bakeries that would meet their needs, but she said the men simply walked out of the store.
A few days later she received a telephone call from the local newspaper. The gay couple had gone public and had accused the Delorme family of discrimination.
Marmolejo told the newspaper he couldn't understand why the couple just didn't violate their religious beliefs.
"I don't see how making a cake for somebody is going to compromise your beliefs," he said.
Soon after the story was published, the Delormes were overwhelmed with a number of threats against the business and their family. Angry activists posted derogatory reviews on Yelp and other social networking platforms.
"See you in Hell, lady," read one angry message. "Racist criminals."
"This business is run by a homophobic piece of (expletive)," another message read.
So far, no formal charges or complaints have been filed against the Christian couple but should that happen, First Liberty said they are prepared to defend the bakery.
"We just want equal rights," David told me. "We want to be treated equally."
Mr. Delmore raises a pretty good point. Shouldn't Christian Americans have the same rights and privileges as LGBT Americans?

These GAYSTAPO people deliberately go out to find Christian businesses to have them refuse services. Will they ever go to a mussie business and try the same thing? How come mussie cab drivers can refuse a blind person with a seeing eye dog and not get charged?
Time to stop turning the cheek and start kicking Butt. These fruitloops are going to wish they stayed in the closet when the screw finally turns.
WHAT? You can not buy Hecho in Mexico ties at Macy’s?
Sure, they could back a cake for a gay wedding. But if they don’t want to...why should the have to.
Let’s suppose a little different scenario for our leftist friends...
Let’s take the owner of gun store, who were to refuse to sell a weapon to someone who he was uncomfortable with. How would our libtarded friends go on that one? Force him to transfer the weapon, or pat him on the back for his courage?
Well there are so many hard core Christian bakeries out there its hard for a fag couple to get a decent cake for their vulgar nuptials........wain, no thats not it.
Well there are so many hardcore FAGS couples out there its hard for a Christian baker to not have to make an exlax laden cake for a vulgar nuptial exchange at least 2 or 3 times a month.......wait, thats not right either......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You cant Tell me that all these FAG couples dont have other FAG friends that would just be FABULOUSLY OVERJOYED to bake a lewdness cake for them.
I think we need a federal redneck judiciary that has jurisdiction over all homosexual issues and when appropriate will use Sharia law in the contemplation of ALL homosexual verdict coming before its bench.
Thinking louder than I should right now.......
It’s weird how there aren’t any homosexual wedding cake bakers in America. Shouldn’t the LGBT cabal be “boycotting” straight wedding cake bakers? They “boycott” everything else.
If one of them had walked in and just purchased “a cake” the bakery would have had no reason to not sell one as this article makes it sound. Not many businesses asked about sexual orientation at a sale.
But these guys have to have a homosexually decorated cake to force their depravity on others. They can’t stop trying to force everyone to say “ sure you immoral creep what you do is ok”. And the media twists and stirs to make principled persons appear bad.
Do we force Christian doctors to abort babies?
I did not see a website. But I bet you can call and order. They should also fight back by offering heterosexual family themed baked goods.
I am going to call and see if I can order a couple dozen cookies or cupcakes.
Support them financially.
Ditto photographers...pictures overexposed...out of focus...refund given...problem solved.
Tolerance for me, but nor for thee...
“Stock up on food and bullets. I cant believe Im saying this in the USA.”......
My wife are celebrating our 56th wedding anniversary today. Over coffee were talking about what life was like 56 years ago. I can’t believe we live in the same country as we did back then.
I think I might have baked the cake and accidentally dropped it the day of the wedding...
Ooops... Sorry... but dont worry... no charge.
The Christian perspective on this is:
Only God can judge the actions of homosexuals ie sodomy and gays will be judged by God. Just like Sodom and Gamora was judged.
The important distinction is that the government has changed its focus from the gays themselves to Christins by forcing Christians to accept sodomy and homosexuality. Yes force.
My question to the gays: why not just go somewhere else? Everyone would be happier that way. Ans: because they want to force Christians to accept their lifestyle and deny their faith and the teachings of the Bible.
Psy-ops with a money back guarantee!
“This is an easy one for bakeries,photographers,etc.”
Do you own your own business? I do, and I take seriously the quality of the work I do. I would imagine these Christian folks do as well. They should not have to compromise the quality of their workmanship any more than they should have to make any other compromises for the Gay Gestapo.
Congratulations!!!
