I’m confused. How is it “inauthentic” when Cruz says he’ll do what he says he’ll do (unlike the GOPe has done)....
but when Trump says he’ll ‘build a wall and make Mexico pay for it’....it is somehow, at least in the minds of the Trump supporters, the gospel and gold?
Based on what, exactly? Cruz has, in fact, gone up against the GOPe and stood up to their betrayals and called them on their BS, while all Trump has done in his life is mouth off, make money...and donate money....to the enemy.
I know which one my loyalty is with. And it isn’t the fat cat with a gift for glib...who supposedly recently morphed into a “Republican conservative”.
“That’s because you are blind to reality.
More than anyone else,Trump can and would easily beat Hillary, who may or may not be the nominee.”
I don’t think moderates will take too well to Trump. Sure, he’s getting a lot of attention from Republican voters, but wait for the general when the media and Democrats get after him. The electorate will not want a reality show huckster as the President of the United States.
“Bernie should be easy but he’s an unknown quantity, since I really can’t get a handle on why he is so popular, especially to airheads young ones. Time was, even grammar school kids knew that stinking MARXIST were awful.”
Don’t kid yourself. Trump and Bernie are two sides of the same coin. Trump supporters are just as naive as Bernie supporters.
The only thing we agree on are Marxists are evil.
It's not what Cruz says that I find so inauthentic. It's how he says it.
He doesn't come across as genuine. He sounds scripted - like a bad actor in a B movie. He has a habit of falling into a sort of phony orator/preacher cadence that's very off-putting to a lot of people.
I didn’t blow it. The GOP hasn’t had a deserving candidate run in ages, THEY blew it. The party is ruled by the pathetic and none of them deserve votes. This is what let’s a 3rd party rablerouser take over. Heck it’s what let the Tea Party make its run, and those candidates actually stink too. When the GOP can find serious candidates to run again I’ll vote for them.
Possibly — and maybe one or two others.
Well don't look now (no, do ...by all means....look)... but...
apparently Trump has a problem of assessment too. Check out page 6 of his record of donations in 2014 here. (ooops)
And see, that is just your perception of Cruz. To me, and to many others, Cruz comes off as the genuine article and the only real conservative in this race. The more I see or hear him, the more I like him...while conversely, the more I hear and see Trump, the more I dislike him. Funny how that works, eh?
But suffice to say....if we cons don’t get our chit together and work together on this election, we will lose the election AND lose the nation to the leftist extremists. And if (or when) that happens we will have only ourselves to blame. We must unite! We have no other choice.
The appeal of Trump for me is mostly this.
There is no other candidate worth spit running! NO one addressed Trade, terrorism, immigration like he did. NO ONE.
I liked Cruz at first, until I really studied him. He’s dishonest and an insider with a messiah complex using the faith of good Christians to con them. How anyone looks at this guy preaching and point his finger and the anger coming out of him is amazing.....and completely ignored by his fans.
It is very telling to look at the announcement speeches of Trump, Cruz and Rubio. This was the time to present what THEY thought was important to them and and the American people. Trump outlined so many issues while Rubio and Cruz just talked about Cuba and themselves.

I'm with you on this, but sadly, Cruz will not pull in the cross votes we need to win. If Cruz gets the nomination, I will vote for him, but many of those "other" voters who supported Trump will either stay at home or drift back to their roots, making this election pretty iffy.
For that reason, I'll support Trump, warts and all, first.
Making a notion of the same kind of fervor in mob-mentality that gave the nation Obama, now for Trump is 'woe is me'??
No. It's called a WARNING about where we find ourselves as a nation, and my comment that a Republic cannot exist in such an environment stands as fact.
Second Trump isnât a king, or a dictator just like Cruz isnât a theocratâ¦
He will have to be if Trump intends to be able to do nearly everything he has said he is going to do. We are left with either 'working with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid' and/or acting on his own - which is what we already have in Obama. The only plus seems to be that Trump doesn't hate the country and desires to see it destroyed.
But the mentality of the people supposedly on 'our side' to see politicians as saviors or monarchs is what is truly frightening. That kind of mentality is what dictators feed off of and use to be able to get away with great horrors to much applause.
Again, I'm making an issue of the mentality of the mob that has convinced itself Trump or Cruz are going to save us. A Republic cannot exist in that environment.
I beg to differ.
Trump gives us platitudes without specifics, moreso than all the rest of the field combined.
Same as Obama did in 2008.
Of course his emphatic statement that he will work with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid while stating he is a ‘common sense’ Conservative (ala: kinder/gentler Conservative) post his bash of Bush regarding 9-11 and Iraq does not exactly convince me he loves the same principles I am governed by.
You are welcome to Seig heil your candidate until your arm grows numb. I have no desire to be part of such a mob mentality.
I did not, will not, vote progressive.
Bill Bennett detests a Trump
