I cannot stand the taste of coffee. I love the smell of it, I love coffee flavored things like coffee ice cream, but I cannot manage to get myself to enjoy it as a beverage. I really want to learn how to like it, though. I enjoy most foods and drinks, but coffee is my next culinary challenge to surmount. Any advice for a coffee novice like myself? I know that the key to liking foods/drinks that you dislike is constant exposure, but I was wondering what is considered "mild" in the coffee world and something from which I can work my way up.
Next time you're ready to tackle another cup,do so without creamer or sweetener, light up a non-filter Turkish cigarette, take a puff, take a sip, take a puff, take a sip. When you've finished the cigarette and coffee you will have destroyed your taste buds and from then on everything will be tolerable because you won't be able to taste anything............
Me too. Coffee with grounds, instant, brewed and two days old, from K-Ration packets condemned because they were made in the 1940's, Coffee from nuclear shelters, coffee from survival packets taken off aircraft, and out of date coffee from the commissary. Once addicted I didn't care, some better than others but like sex, all of it is good.
Baileys doesn't have real Irish Whiskey in it, St. Brendan's does. Bailey's isn't from Ireland either.
Omgosh using a kindle that auto corrected. Lol. Should be evaporated milk and turbinado sugar. Coincidentally I did use turbo tax today.
Tes, wait until you’re of age, because caffeine increases sexual performance, and opens up the bronchial tubes.
You might try a small, freshly made, heavily sugared expresso from Starbucks by sniffing it before each sip. The aroma of a fresh expresso is delightful and the sugar counteracts the bitterness. I have Cuban friends who cannot stand American coffee but love Cuban coffee, which is a type of expresso.
“...because caffeine increases sexual performance, and opens up the bronchial tubes.”
Uhm I guess if I cared about either of those things, that would be good to know.
“...you will have destroyed your taste buds”
And my lungs.
The only useful thing I ever learned from a litigation attorney - if you do something for a month it will become a new habit. So buy a good coffee and experiment with it for a month. Costco has a blue mountain blend that is excellent. Very well balanced.
There are few things in life more satisfying Tham a perfectly brewed cup of coffee in the morning.
Full disclodure. I love tea also. Keep a half dozen kinds on hand.
My favorites are Chock full o’Nuts and Eight O’Clock regular drip with half and half cream. Dunkin’ Donuts regular is OK but more and more it’s made too weak.
What McDonald’s does to Maxwell House is a witch’s brew. Egad!
Nestle and Folger’s are terrible.
It will turn your teeth yellow.
So does tea. Fortunately, this is 2016 and we have a wide array of whitening products available. And I actually go get my teeth cleaned at the dentist, so there’s that.
Why get addicted?
Why would I get addicted?
1. Go to Italy in the sping, summer or fall.
2. Order cappucino at a nice outdoor cafe.
That’ll do it.
Caffeine is addictive.
Actually, caffeine doesn’t affect me. I drink it all the time, but I can easily go days or weeks without it.
That made me laugh — paying $$ to recycle coffee
I like my morning cup of Joe. Ergo, I am addicted.
I wonder why they don't declare my love of spinach salad an addiction? I have had stronger cravings for that then I ever have for coffee.
This is my busy time of year when I eat, sleep and breath the tax code so I can almost see adding two packets of turbo tax your coffee.
