A recent Gallup poll now shows that Independents make up 42% of the electorate. That's bad news for the Democrats and Republicans as now only 29% of Americans identify as Democrat and 26% of Americans identify as Republicans.
During the debate there were plenty of unnecessary personal attacks. Especially those between Trump, Bush, and Cruz. Another thing that drove me freaking insane was the bible banging that Pastor Ted Cruz decided to whip out again. I mean, there's only so much preaching you can do during a campaign. These Republicans need to focus on their plans and strategies. What they don't need to focus on is pandering to crazy religious imbeciles and appealing to those that live in the deep woods of the south. You know, the ones that wave a confederate flag on the back of their over sized pickup truck with all the monster energy drink patches on their clothes.
However, there is one savior left in this Republican campaign season. That's Ohio Governor John Kasich. He's the only moderate up on stage. He's the only one that can appeal to Independents and possibly even Democrats in a general election.

what’s with the INTENSE HATRED of Christian Southerners in this article.
it border on hate speech.
Well, this article claimed that Kasich was the last hope so that pretty much tells you where this piece is coming from.
That being said, calling your candidate 'the face of God' is pure stupidity and will turn off more voters than it will attract.
who said that? an about whom?
It's called religious bigotry. Seems to be a lot of that in the Democrat AND Republican parties, of late.
Heidi Cruz appeared on a radio program a few days back and made the statement about Ted.

Yep, it seems these idiots need to a history lesson seeing as they have forgot that it was Christians who founded the country and made the country great.
Oh and that little thing called freedom of religion.
I'm sorry. Maybe I missed the news. Who is the Independant Party candidate?
Quoting from the “Beacon’s” web page. “The Beacon staff is comprised of Wilkes University students who are advised by a full-time faculty member of the Communication Studies Department. I didn’t realize that Kasich has much of a following among university students... is he perceived as the closest Republican to Bernie?
John Kasich who said he’s a democrat? That John Kasich? Or do you mean the mealy-mouthed John Kasich?
why is a NYC boy move in love with the south than most Southern dems?
from my visits in my youth I remember the people as being really nice and patriotic and God loving
My sisters from NJ did a 10 state tour and said everybody was conservative an talked about fighting back against the gov’t with guns if it came down to it!!!
I wish I could be an honorary southerner.
had a great chance to go down there with my boss 12 years ago, but I just can’t take the heat and I LOVE the fall and winter.
I think I blew it.
Moderates Moderates Moderates
What do we want?
Squishiness!
When do we want it?
You know, sometime, maybe... whenever you get aroumd to it...
As a Cruz supporter..BAD MOVE.
I dont know about others, but I went from being elated about having 2 great picks to choose from, to seeing some of the weak points in both of them.
But they are not running for God. That position is already taken.
They are men, just like us, with flaws.
Trump had the chance to lose me for good last night with a stupid statement on Scalia and his comments on black in college, and again with his terrible SC choices.
He did neither. He praised a man I LOVE and who is a HERO around here, and his two SC justices picks seem solid.
Still for Cruz, but want to pull the lever for Trump gladly in november if i must, and not grudgingly.
And at this point, if i flipped again, i would be booted as a troll instead of the most confused FReeper in history!!
Yeah, it's been a little rough around here with the in fighting. It's hard not to take the insults personally and want to lash back out.
With Trump, we'd have to worry he'd follow through on his intents.
With Cruz, we'd have to worry he wouldn't get co-opted and weaken his positions to the detriment of us all.
Bottom line is we cannot have a Democrat in the White House for what could be another 8 years. I'm voting for either Cruz or Trump and yes I see shortcomings in both.
The perfect team would be...
Kasich and Kerry
Ta-Dum! ;-)
Lame attempt at humor.
If you mispronounce the name it comes out...
Cash and Carry.
Groan.
great post.
Trump has made more comfortable with his moves the past few days.
I worry about Ted’s God complex, but like I said, if I switch again, i’m off the board lol.
I have HATED and LIKED Trump 57 different times.
mad at ted once over the NY thing, (even though he’s right, dont like to see states pitted against each other)
pulling R against D is easy.
my first primary, and pulling R against R is a lot harder.
Delusional pundit strikes again
I have looked into this and Ted Cruz doesn’t think he is God. He thinks he is God’s anointed King whose mission is to restore America to its Christian roots. This is the only way that we can get Jesus to come back a second time. We have to establish a Christian, one-world government, and religion, starting here in the United States and Canada. Ted is the perfect person to do this, because he can be the President of the United States, and the Prime Minister of Canada at the same time.
what was sarcasm right? :)
