The BBC ^ | February 8, 2016

A male leopard which entered a school in the Indian city of Bangalore injured six people trying to capture it.

A scientist and a forestry employee were among those mauled during the near 10-hour long effort to corner the dangerous animal on Sunday.

The leopard, which strolled into the Vibgyor International school, was eventually tranquillised and released.

A recent wildlife census estimated that India has a leopard population of between 12,000 and 14,000.

The eight-year-old male was spotted strolling inside the school premises in the Kundalahalli area.

Trying to capture it?!?

There’s the problem... if they had just shot the thing, probably wouldn’t have had a single injury, and someone would have a nice throw rug.

Now there’s a MAN putting his life on the line to protect children. Wow. One chomp to his neck and it would’ve been curtains for him. In America I think guys would either be taking cellphone pics or running like crazy.

Actually, India has a very large population of Leopards. The cats are so numerous in India that the cat is constantly going into towns and cities snatching up dogs and cats. Leopards are beautiful and is my favorite big cat.

Why just today Jane Fonda suggests that Donald Trump is turning Muslims to terrorism in greater number than otherwise they would. Bizarre, eh?

Doesn't she know Hillary already tried that one out the other day?

They’re just mountain lions with spots is all. I wouldn’t want to go up against either. Mountain lions scare the #&%# out of me and they are all over the United States to the tune of 30,000-40,000??!

Nice video. However, Leopards, like Lions, do not purr. He was growling but it was a nice, do that again, growl. Too bad he was in a cage. Beautiful cat.

They gave a cheetah to Queen Victoria and it lived in the Tower of London.

But cheetahs can be tamed to an extent, and have rather dog-like behavior. Leopards are like mountain lions - permanent bad attitudes. :)

Cheetah are easy to tame and rarely harm humans even in the wild. They like being scratched under their chins and are the largest cat that purrs. I would love to be able to afford to have one.

Leopards are a very different cat. Beautiful but I am not petting one no matter how tame their handler tells me it is.

I learned both, and so the name of the school just leaped out at me.

BTW...the video of the attack was awful!
