LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC- A South Congaree woman was taken into custody after she falsely told police her ex-husband sexually assaulted her after breaking into her home.
South Congaree Police Department officials said Tammy Lawhorne Bedenbaugh, 36, has been charged with filing a false police report of a felony violation in connection with the investigation.
Officials said Bedenbaugh called police on Oct. 27 stating that her home was broken into by her ex-husband. Bedenbaugh then told police that he tied her up and sexually assaulted her. She gave a statement to police saying the same thing, officials said.
After further investigation, officials said South Congaree investigators located Bedenbaugh's ex-husband, who is a truck driver, and were able to verify through his employer that he was across the country during the time of the alleged assault.
Bedenbaugh then moved out of the South Congaree area to some other area of the state, officials said. A statewide search was launched for Bedenbaugh before she eventually drove from the Beaufort area Thursday morning and turned herself in.
It is unclear why Bedenbaugh reported the assault, officials said.
She is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Well that is problematic!
I guess she thought they would take her claim at face value..
Look at her face!
“has been charged with filing a false police report”
So, slap on the wrist for her. If he had been wrongfully convicted based on her testimony, it would have meant jail time and registering as a sex offender for life, with all the penalties that entails.
So how does the punishment fit the crime?
He hadn’t touched her in years and she was mad, one could only guess why!
Nice tooth..
She has a tooth...
One of my issues with laws that favor women over men and I say that as a family member of someone falsely accused of rape, it was no joke, nearly cost him his military career.
Good thing he wasn’t a university student, that evidence would have been inadmissible.
hashtag women don’t lie about these things
Smart man to unload this POS
You would need to tie me up to do that thang
She reminds me of the women Donald T.Rump saw in one of his hotels. She had too kids with her.
Donald asked, “Oh, are they twins?” She barked back, “No, one if 8 the other is 4. Why would you think they are twins?”
Donald responded, “Because I cannot believe that an ugly pig like you could get laid twice.”
I was falsely accused myself. Luckily I was young and she just accused me (behind my back) to all of my friends and didn’t involve the police or school authorities. Still, that experience showed me how casually some women will make these kinds of accusations. The girl that accused me didn’t even stand to benefit from it at all besides getting some sympathy. Yet she was willing to potentially ruin someone’s life to get that.
Looks like a Lot Lizard.
Based on reply #4, what do you think?
Please!
“falsely reporting ex-husband sexually assaulted her”
Where do they learn this sh*t? Some of them must be getting away with it.
Reminds me of a post from years ago where I learned that Rosie O'Donnell has a child and I replied that, "I didn't know a man could get that drunk". (It turns out the child is adopted.)
