There was a time that posters had knowledge of the subject at hand and contributed positive facts rather than opinion and speculation.

Agree. It was quite liberating to learn that I can choose simply to IGNORE posts (and posters) that get under my skin.
Or not. ;-)
But it’s MY choice. No one can force me to read or respond to anything.

I'm sorry. But it's not the same this time. It's worse. People are declaring rush and Levin and behind some conspiracy in cahoots with the establishment, the very same ones all of a sudden cheerleaders for Karl Rove and political savvy, some are mocking Christians, and then others are suddenly HUGE fans of big government. It beats all I've ever seen. They're Hillarybots infiltrating FR. Divide and conquer. Have no clear calm place for conservatives to discuss candidates. That's what SuperPAC money is FOR.

I was off of FR for almost a day once, and hardly anyone missed me.
So now I announce every time I take a shower.

Both sides should rein in their own.
That might short-circuit the escalations. :)

I have noticed that some posters who have been with FR since inception think that gives them the right to verbally abuse and disrespect newer posters. Most times itâs mild ribbing about âNewbiesâ, sort of like high school freshmen in my old school being talked into buying an âElevator Passâ. Although my school had 8 floors, no âelevator passesâ were ever required.
But other times, Iâve seen a âSenior Posterâ stalk, troll, ridicule, gang up and generally harass newer posters who express a point of view slightly âout of the boxâ. Nothing subversive, just not the prevailing sentiment. I generally either ignore it, or stop myself from responding when I can see that someone is fishing for a confrontation, a much ado about nothing. Some others cannot resist the challenge, the virtual white glove smacking them in the face, and they proceed to take the bait, responding with dueling postings, back and forth, tit for tat, like a ping pong game, filling screen space.
Says you.
