Any Comments/suggestions/stories?
TI-99/4a or Atari 800.
In a couple months, the Samsung Galaxy 7 is coming out, so the price of the 6 will drop a fair bit.
I have an iPhone 6. It is great. No issues at all.
Are you using apple os or Android now? That’s a bigger question than the hardware.
I was on Apple a few years back but switched to android when apple feminized iOS ( now donning flame-proof suit :-) )
I am an inveterate tweaker and was lured off the Apple ranch onto the Android side from by talk of configurability etc.
Big mistake. Mundane tasks such as syncing calendars became fraught with peril and/or required third party apps with subscriptions...even then it was a connectivity nightmare.
Apple battery life may have its own issues but the Samsung battery drained faster than a cracked porcelain tub.
After 6 months I bailed and am back in happy Apple land.
If you like Apple, get the Apple IPhone. If you use Android, get the Galaxy. Wife likes Apple, bought her an Android tablet, she took it back bought an IPad. It is all in what you use.
Household Six and I got iPhone 6+ in 2014. After a year, we dumped AT&T Wireless (They were really hosing us with hidden costs!) and switched to Verison and the Samsung Galaxy. Very happy with them.
And Verizon is much more affordable.
From what I've heard, it's more user friendly than the Apple.......
Apple!
I have No Smartphone or ANY Cell Phone for that matter right now.
Heh, I had a TI 99/4a, then a PC Jr. After that, I just built my own from off the shelf parts.
I’ve never owned an Apple product, but I do know that Apple is the only company earning a profit on its phones.
I use Tracfone and would never spend a lot of money for a phone, but if you are someone who does spend a lot of money on a phone I say you should go with Apple.
Would you rather have Google or Apple watching everything you do on it?
(Serious question.)
I’ve had my Galaxy S6 since July.
It’s by far the best phone I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it.
I upgraded to an S6 when my S4 failed. I hate it. Hate hate hate it.
The software guys spent some much effort “improving” it that the basic functionality i liked about the S4 are gone.
The S7 and successors have a huge hole to climb out of.
we had to take our apple 6s back to at&t... it crashed on the ios update as soon as we got it home... was a very bad experience, because they didn’t want to take it back unless it was like it was when it left the store.
I will never buy another apple product.. .ever!
I built a few jameco kits after that. It was nice to be able to be able to afford a 386 motherboard and a 40MB ($465.50 iirc) hard drive after that once I had the grad school stipend:)
I started buying apple products in 2003 once I realized the problems with trying to run solaris on an x86 box. It was nice to have a real unix variant commercially available which didn’t require me to deal with odd hardware issues.
Whatever you are used to honestly. If data is an issue for you, android can limit the data you use per device. Apple? I guess they haven’t figured that out yet. Pure retardation if you ask me.
I have both in my house and really don’t have a preference since both companies mine all your personal data equally.
Apple - there is a simplicity to the design and function that is beautiful and works.
If you ever need help, you can go to the nearest Apple Store.
Applications are not filled with viruses.
Out of 8 in my immediate family, 7 have an iPhone.
