I got so angry about all this infighting during the last 2 presidential campaigns that is almost dropped out of FR. I am sick of all the name calling I may stop coming for a while. I have an opinion on which camp is the worst but I will keep that to myself.
Sit back and don’t take yourself so seriously. If you don’t like the opinions, then disregard them and move on. Remember that you enjoy one of the most free blogs around.
What raises my eyebrows is the venom Cruz and Trump
supporters spew for each other’s candidate. Both
candidates have pluses and minuses but neither are
as bad as what the Rats are offering. Will these avid
supporters stay home on election day if their candidate
does not win the Republican nomination? Really? Every
vote is a crap shoot at best. The last time I felt
completely comfortable with my vote the presidential
candidate was named Reagan. I am sure a lot of those
who are either throwing shade on Trump or Cruz were
not old enough to have voted for Reagan.
Some of this stuff is downright crazy talk.
We had pretty good fights in 2000 (Bush, Forbes, Pat, Keys) when things mostly mellowed out in 2008 and 2012. 2016 is going to be a knock down drag out fight to the death. Put your big boy pants on cause there aint going to be anything civil in 2016. Trust me, this is war and we Trumpters are going to win it all.
Thanks for summarizing the main reason I have only casually browsed FR the last several years. It has gotten so bad lately, I was finally inspired to post. Only to be met with the same vitriol.
One thing to keep in mind, is the lefties have an easy place to go find quotes from “right wing extremists” and so many of these are now disgusting childish and crass.

I think there should be a forum on FR for real thinkers and intellectuals. The posters who are always drunk like Humblegunner (is he still humping Jim Bob’s stump?) can post their drivel in the dummies corner.
I don’t accept the premise that logic is a main ingredient in how most people select a President. The masses vote based on whether they like him, identify with him, they way he looks and carries himself and numerous emotional reasons. Some use logic for sure but I would not count on the masses to use it — the masses that elected Obama twice.
It does seem like there are a lot of Liberal Trolls lurking in wait to demonize anyone they see as a threat to Hillary or Bernie.

No, it isn’t. I really, really, is not. Math is not that hard.
Personally, I’m at peace with my choice of candidate, so I don’t get as wound up as some here do. I even (mostly) refrain from giving back nastiness when I receive it, because I’m just not invested in the other person’s anger.
I’m not mad, so what reason do I have to fight, except if someone outright attacks me?
1) Tariffs on Chinese goods will somehow punish China.
2) Going to war with Russia to defend Ukraine/Syrian rebels/Saudi oil interests is a matter of utmost national security importance.
3) Apple is a Communist company run by gays.
4) The War on Drugs is the only thing keeping every American school child from leaving home to follow Phish.
5) Americans who invest or work overseas should be stripped of their citizenship.
That conservatism is supposed to be about conserving the radical spirit of liberty propounded by the Founding Fathers never seems to enter into the discussion.
