Vanity: I am so sick of the lack of logic used on FR these days.

I am so sick of the lack of logic used on Free Republic when some argue either for or against Trump or Ted Cruz whom I do not support, or at least a declaratory opinion/argument by a creeper who AT LEAST explains his or her line of reasoning/thinking.

All of the blustern(either made up in someone's mind) or taken directly from either of the campaigns (which are not based ON ANY evidence other than the candidate or a surrogate's opinions are worth NOTHING).

As conservatives, libertarians, tea partiers, Christians, constitutionalists, nationalists/Proud Americans, Republicans, yes even some moderates, shouldn't we at least try to elevate the conversation when we debate? Let's try out reason, logic, respect and facts, huh?

While we're at it can we cut out the snark, name calling and personal attacks that have become the norm around here just because someone supports a candidate you don't like! I'll admit that I am not guilt free on this charge, and to anyone I have personally offended occasionally either intentionally or not I ask forgiveness. I try to keep my conversations civil as both a. Christian and conservative.

This thread doesn’t have enough venom. I’ll make some statements and everyone can discuss!

Bush/McCain or Bush/Romney 2016! Cause you know you love the lesser of two evils and don’t want to wind up in Thailand!

Also, Trump and Cruz can’t win.

Discuss.

;-)

Randy is IN the concrete....in the river....feeding da fishes.

And he could have stayed ON the concrete----livin' in a van----down by the river

But the lust for glory is a powerful thing..

Remember the posts; "Oh, Mitt Romney? He's not conservative "enough"

I remember those posts, and they began long before Mitt ever ran for the White House. He was roundly condemned as a Republican In Name Only on Free Republic for years and years.

You know what? Mitt wasn't conservative enough. Not even close.

Every condemnation of Mitt was right on the money. We got railroaded into having that fraud as our nominee in 2012. I will never blame any red blooded American for the GOP's loss to Obama that year.

Yeah, watching people eat their own around here is telling me to prepare for 12 years of President Hillary.

Yes, it was nutty. Back then people were saying they would not vote for Romney because he was not a conservative. “Nominate a conservative or I will stay home.”

Ahh, the good old days.

Paul, Cain, Gingrich, Bachman, Huckabee, Santorum were all better than Mitt. But we couldn’t unite around any of them. Half of the problem is the egos of the candidates...refusing to face reality when their campaign collapses.

Currently Carson, Huckabee, Santorum should all pick Cruz if their consistent about issues and values...or Trump to get on a bandwagon. It is useless ego for them to stay in the race.

Let the Kasich, Christie, Bush types be the faction splitters.

Murican schools don’t teach classical education or Aristotelian logic. Same dumbed down public schools that graduate Demonrats also graduate Freepers. So there...

I can't agree with you more. Should add Paul to that list, as well. At this point, there's no question that none of them have a path to victory in the primary. Let us hope they all do the honorable thing and bow out after Iowa.

Doesn’t this happen at every Presidential election cycle? As a long time lurker, I even remember some purges in the past.

“For starters, can people ease up a bit on creating obviously redundant threads and copying and pasting the same comment into a dozen threads?”

I agree! It’s a waste of bandwidth and I recognize them as soon as I see them and scroll down past them. I won’t name the FReeper(s), but I think we all know who at least one of them is. They clutter up Trump threads with the same posts. I’ve been tempted to post something to them on the threads, but I don’t want to get into verbal fisticuffs with anyone. I’m trying to keep an open mind about this election, but it sometimes gets difficult to do so. I’m all for supporting the candidate of one’s choice, but it would be great if it could be done without the vitriol against a candidate others support and/or against FReepers.
Just my $.02

My sister, brother, and their spouses attended the FR ball after Bush was elected — “Count The White House Silverware” or something. They had the most wonderful time! Seeing the end of Hussein in the White Hut might be an even better reason for celebrating.
