I can't argue with the NR editorial. The Donald has not espoused many significant conservative values, other than those that will evoke immediate applause/cheers.

I do get irritated by folks like Steve Hayes and Krauthammer (whom I agree with nearly always), who go off on their anti-Cruz rants regularly. As far as I can tell, Ted Cruz's only "sin" is exposing the go along/get along BS that rules the US Senate. Does anyone really give a rat's fat a$$ about Senate "comity"?? When did telling the truth become a felonious act?

Having vented that, I will vote for the non-Hillary candidate in November.

The Supreme Court is of utmost importance and trumps sister is a NIGHTMARE. That gives serious pause. Trump denigrating Roberts vote re Obamacare while proposing his sister ... ? Jonah pointed that out.

Trumps problem is his lack of a platform. Sure he harangues the elites on open borders, lousy economy, lack of leadership on foreign affairs........but what would HE do? Not much there but build a fence and charge Mexico. His record of supporting Dems is alarming. His lack of record on conservative issues is glaring. The only thing I am on board with is that he can fill a stadium of potential enthusiastic voters. He is a bumptious populist. That's about all his appeal amounts to. Scary.

Those comments about his sister were ludicrous. How can a true conservative trust him?

Did you see this bit of delusion?

If Mr. Cruz were the party’s nominee, said Charles R. Black Jr., a lobbyist who has worked on numerous Republican presidential campaigns, “what would happen is a lot of the elected leaders and party elders would try to sit down and try to help Cruz run a better campaign, but he may not listen. Trump is another matter.”

“You can coach Donald,” Mr. Black said. “If he got nominated, he’d be scared to death. That’s the point he would call people in the party and say, ‘I just want to talk to you.’”

Yep, Trump will be asking for advice and coaching sometime real soon. LOL

My kids borrowed my car to pick up their car after an alignment. My car died in the lot. Probably, the alternator. (((Sigh)))

I see a lot of panties in a wad today over the NR article-I quit reading NR after they became the mouthpiece of the GOPe/RINO contingent, trying to sell us on another loser-Romney. I did read this article, however-the only thing missing from that collective tantrum is something telling us how great Jeb is-but that is just my opinion...

The media accuses candidates
Of being bumptious or worse-
But no one will equal Obama
For possession of that curse

His bragging is in every word
Just as it is in every speech-
The way he constantly says “I”
Is worse than Hillary’s screech

He’s entirely more annoying than
Just about anyone could ever be-
They’ll worship him over in Hawaii
And he’ll preach to them for free...

It is your opinion. NR is not Bush fans at all. They do tend to come around and support the GOP nominee each cycle, but that is normally a no-brainer. Given the option.

NR articulates conservative thought fairly well. Not extreme. Grounded in politics, which is to say what is possible, not what may be desired in an ideal world.

It’s invaluable.

I’ve never believed in an ideal world-it is the stuff of fiction, just as much as liberal belief in a socialist paradise-I’ve been cynical from childhood, like pretty much my whole family. I held my breath and voted for Romney-and for McCain-but I wasn’t any happier than anyone else who embraces conservatism and limited government at having that bad a choice.

And I know a few people whose ideal world of limited government and conservatism is one where there is never any drugs, maybe no alcohol, the fed tells the states how to sell marriage licenses, no divorce and only G-rated TV-that is not my idea of limited government, freedom, or conservatism, for that matter-I’m a big believer in states’ rights-I’d prefer to see liberals live in liberal states, conservatives/the libertarian-leaning in other states-to each their own-and we’d see very shortly which system works best by which states had welfare riots and went into bankruptcy first...

Thank you!

Will he ever-I’ll bet he already has a playbook for it-and those liberal loving Hawaiians will still simply writhe in ecstasy at his every word and deed...

Ouch! Are you bracing for a lot of snow today and this weekend? We are getting none, but our daughter in Richmond VA is paralyzed. Every school in VA is closed and won’t reopen until Tuesday — if then. Haven’t checked with the daughter in NY yet.

Let me revise that a bit — we are getting flurries, that’s all. I hardly notice flurries. California girl that I am, I used to palpitate over flurries, but not any more. LOL.

Looks like we are getting nothing. Yeah! Car has been repaired and they went to get it. Things are looking better.
