Everyone step back a second and take a breath.
Yup.
Amen.
I agree with your post 100%. Civil discourse is one thing, but it has sunk to embarrassing levels. Neither side will change one opinion from the other camp. Yet neither will give up. It’s not much fun or educational anymore. What a shame.
No, not even a bit better. I'd rather have a dummycrat stab me from the front than deal with another traitorous wretch GOPe backstabber.

I agree. 100%. What makes all the rancor so ridiculous is that people on this forum are batting each other around to no purpose. Clearly, nobody is going to change anybody’s mind here. This battle isn’t going to take place on an emotion-overloaded forum. It’s going to take place first in Iowa, then New Hampshire, then South Carolina and Nevada, then roll across the remaining states. Whether it’s Cruz or Trump who is the eventual nominee, he is getting my support.
I suspect that the sad thing here is that the people with the most vitriolic remarks on this forum will decide to sit it out if their candidate doesn’t get the nomination. Pure tragedy. No matter who wins the nomination between these two, and it is most likely to be one of them, an inability to support the winner means another Democrat will get elected. Nose, meet knife. America, meet Armageddon.
I applaud anybody supporting either of these candidates. I despair of anybody who would consider throwing the election to Hillary or Sanders because their guy didn’t win the nomination.
Exit question: is it not possible to support your own favorite candidate without trashing the other guy and his supporters, either on this forum or in the political arena?
Trump was a dim only 6 years ago. I have not had one Trump supporter give me a decent response on how they are sure Trump will not revert to his earlier liberal ways.
That seals it for me.
I have noticed a pattern involving several posters who claim to be conservatives. Yet they excessively attack only those who effectively oppose amnesty. Furthermore, their arguments and phraseology are very similar as if copying from the same list of talking points.
I agree we are all starting to act like liberals. In the end we are all on the same team.
My opinion: Where it goes off the rails is PERSONAL attack.
We need clarity on what that is and we need Mods who will enforce the rule against it.
“Exit question: is it not possible to support your own favorite candidate without trashing the other guy and his supporters, either on this forum or in the political arena?”
It is possible. Do what we always do here. Present your argument, make it factual and intelligent and debate it. That’s what makes FR great.
Okay.
You can have the Prince of Light and Hope.
Please keep him to yourself.
I’ll pass on your version of “lessons”.
Obama voter!
The vast majority of us stay out of this family fight, EITHER one is preferable.
But from the sound of some Cruz supporters here there is one difference ...
If Cruz is the nominee, Trump supporters will vote for Cruz.
If Trump is the nominee, I get the feeling some of the Cruz supporters will stay home.
Amen. Trump supporters will gladly back Cruz if he is the one man standing except Cruz supporters will gladly have Bernie if Trump is the man. That is my observation based on what I see here on FR
Lest we forget, the Severe Conservative did not wait 24 hours after his loss to completely revert to his true form.
People do not have radical shifts in philosophy and mean them. People who really change evolve over time and grow into their new beliefs.
Any person of faith knows that the new convert is the most gung ho. Most of them are gone before long.
This is, by far, the most important Presidential election of our lifetime. IMO, the person who wins will play a huge role in determining whether we survive as a Nation. For the first time in decades, we have a TRUE, conservative, constitutionalist, in Sen. Ted Cruz, who is clearly making the case for our values, and yet we have throngs who have thrown their support behind Donald Trump, someone who will say anything, at any time, and change any position, to capitalize on the emotion of the populace. I will continue to speak my mind on this. I will continue to hammer Trump as a fraud, a poser, an opportunist, and as someone who has co-opted the Democrat play book and brought far too many with him. Time to wake up, folks. This great country of ours needs to get back to basics. The Framers left us a near perfect system, called Federalism, and we’re THISCLOSE to losing it all.
Personally I prefer Welcome to the Jungle rather than Kumbaya but I understand you might feel differently.
Really? I see them call him a Canadian, Evil, a fraud and worse. So am I believe they are all simply liars now? Or liars when they switch teams in November?
