Mid-Atlantic Braces for Potentially Epic Blizzard
WeatherUnderground ^ | January 20, 2016 | Bob Henson

For an event still several days out, computer models were in remarkable agreement late Tuesday on what could be one of the greatest snowstorms in decades for the region around Washington, D.C. It’s difficult to convey what the models are projecting without appearing to sensationalize the event, but here goes: there is every indication that snow totals on the order of two feet are quite possible across parts of the greater D.C./Baltimore area, with the potential for almost as much in Philadelphia and perhaps a foot toward New York City. Anything over 20 inches at Washington National Airport would be the greatest snowfall for D.C.'s official reporting station in almost a century.

I like the snow. Hated the boring weather while leaving out on the Left Coast. Give me four seasons.

That storm hit SW Illinois last night. Left 3 inches on the ground. After 5 days of near Zero highs, temp is now up to around freezing (29 F). So in my book, it was a small snow squall that will have to pick up a lot of moisture to be any worse out east. You’ll be lucky to get more that 6 inches.

Well, yes, I knew that.

It causes Muslims to go on jihad, too.

And zeka virus, and syphilis and acne, too.

WRONG! obama/gore said that all of the east coast will be under water due to climate change.

The weather forecasts therefore must be some right wing denier conspiracy.

So you LOVE the snow....
Post your mailing address and I’ll mail you a BIG box from my driveway. And anyone else who wants some.
I worry for my fellow citizens, so I always try to direct the snow to SKI country where they make a living from that “heavenly” gift. You can have mine.

I remember one when I was living in McLean, VA around 1966. Had to have been a couple feet - there were four foot drifts that we could walk on.

We need to hear from Bette Midler who tweeted about a warm December; “December 22, 2015, 63 degrees in NYC. I would like to thank the ignorant selfish climate deniers for all their goodwill toward the planet.”. I’m sure she’ll say this is just weather.

Blizzard of 1996, 24 inches in DC, 30 in Philadelphia, according to wiki.

This storm is going to be a Nor'easter. Plenty of moisture here on the East Coast.

I like your attitude. Couple of years ago someone I knew was whining that it hadn't snowed and it would be terrible to wake up Christmas morning with no snow. I told them the best Christmas morning I ever had was on my bro in laws sailboat in the Keys.

Well yeah. Glow-bull discombobulation alert. “They” can’t get it right for this afternoon but “they” expect everybody to be on board with their pre-dictions 84 years from now. Yeah, I don’t think I’m boarding that ship. Consider what the greatest minds in 1900 predicted for 2000. Not even close.
