Don’t recall that. But I do know it’s been considered a possible contributing factor in red shift observations, making it APPEAR that a remote object is further away than it actually is.
Surf’s up!
I took up surfing only this past summer. Here is a video I posted on YouTube of my first ever wave. Have to admit I was a little nervous, it being my first time and all.

Gravity wave tech would allow for personal ballistic shields that would truly be bulletproof.
Check this video out. It’s only got 10.7 million hits at YouTube.
Full screen it if you’re on a PC or Mac!

It is always good to learn on something basic like that wave but try adjusting your stance a little and stay in the tube a lot longer.
It’s the “flavor of the week” for doomsday scenarios. If global warming or the Yellowstone volcano doesn’t get us, gravitational waves surely will!
Unlike huge waves of water, I imagine gravity wave surfing might also allow one to pay a little loose and free with time....
Interesting!
Effects seen in Earthquakes?
I’m wondering if this could be tied to the hawking paper where the particles wavelength heads toward infinity as it enters the event horizon of a black hole. Would seem to me that as the wavelength increases it might appear to be propagating from an external viewpoint.
There already is a known phenomenon called “gravitational red shift”. It doesn’t necessarily involve red shifts going off to infinity around black holes.

Gravitational Redshift
(in general relativity) the shift toward longer wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a source in a gravitational field, especially at the surface of a massive star.

While not a tax, they can fine you in Seattle (Seattle!) for collecting rain water!
And for mistakenly calling a he a she, or vice versa.
Gravity works for the Devil.
Re: “they can fine you in Seattle (Seattle!) for collecting rain water!”
Just tell them that it was your way of helping to curb sea level rise due to man-made global warming. Because most, if not all, rainwater eventually makes its way to the sea.
You are assuming some tiny grain (non-zero-size) of logic exists in the liberal mind. That assumption is off by a factor of infinity.
And govt/warfare. Zero on target > press button > instant pancake.
A Socialist’s wet-dream. Instant compliance
yes I knew about that - I’m just curious if it could be tied into the new paper’s findings regarding protons and gravitons on the border of the black hole - it would seem to be related.

“Wasn’t there some quack professor a week or two ago claiming gravity waves caused turbulence upsetting an airline flight?”
Nope, that’s caused by rookie pilots letting up on the flaps too soon while landing, especially at Chicago’s O’Hare cowpath landing strip. I’ve got bumps on the top of my head from hitting the bulkhead to prove it.
