Vanity: The Trump Problem?
Self | 1/11 | Me

Posted on 01/11/2016 11:57:21 AM PST by TangledUpInBlue

I consider myself to work with plenty of smart people. Some staunch conservatives, others moderate. But being that this is a financial business, most are not liberal.

So the following came up at lunch today with a person recently away from news on vacation.

Person: Anything exciting happen with Trump? Me: Not really Person: I can't believe he's still around Me: Why? Person: He's so obnoxious. You wouldn't vote for him would you? Me: Of course. 7 days a week if he's against Hillary. Person: If it's the two of them, I'm not voting.

What do you think? Isn't this a real problem? A lower turnout can only help the Beast.

You embarrass redheads everywhere with such claptrap as every one who sits at home this time around, are the ones who gave us Obama.

If we were into year four of Romney's Republican administration that was advancing nationalized health care with on-demand abortion, the environmentalist agenda, the homosexual agenda, and activist left-leaning judges, and watched as Democrats made huge gains in the midterms, YOU would be the one who gave it to "us."

YOU who went along with the nomination of Romney "gave" us leftist socialism no matter who we voted for. BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO VOTE FOR, RED.

Embrace the truth of my tagline and stop making the same stupid mistake over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ....

Have media attacks helped or hurt Trump?

Refusing to vote for the “not perfect” got us greater evil over and over.

I do not think you can show where refusing to vote for “the lesser evil” got us anything but the “greater evil”.

It sounds like an easy out.

I refused to vote for the “lesser evil” by voting Liberterian for years. I was consistently rewarded by watching the “greater evil” win.

What really got us in this mess is the stranglehold the media cartel had on the flow of information.

I have always felt that neither Jeb Bush or Hillary will be their parties nomination. I may be wrong, but I don’t think so.

He's like the 'crazy uncle' at Thanksgiving dinner. Nobody has anything good to say about him, but secretly they agree with him on most things.

I look at it this way:

Bill Murray is America's Cool Uncle.

Donald Trump is America's Rich Uncle.

Most people have heard of both men, and like them.

The freepers who have the Tee Dee Ess are just very vocal - in the society at large, there aren't as many who are that passionate about Trump.

Obviously, the TeeVee will be very influential in shaping the opinions of the its drooling slaves, but I think even some of those people are noticing the beat-down that Trump is putting on the hated Media.

I'm working on my neighbors. :)

I've watched Trump plenty of times. Enough to know he is an ill-bred self-absorbed garish loser, in spite of his ability to amass financial wealth.

You won't vote for the GOP nominee if it's Trump?

Aren't you just something!

So much more morally superior than us schlumps, so much more principled than we, so much more caring for the country than we, so much more intelligent than we, so much more perceptive than we, so much more of a true conservative.

Too bad we all have to get dragged down the tubes right along with rigid intellectual towers like you who will stay home and not vote....that's precisely how we got four more years of Obama's presidency-from-hell in the last presidential election.

Of course I won’t. I don’t want a liberal to be president. Trump is a liberal.

I will point out that all the lesser evil is greater evil. Democrats did not just hand barry a trillion dollars, fund PP and the rest. The lesser evil majority did. And let us not suffer short memory syndrome as they have done it since even before they took the congress

Obama could have done exactly nothing without lesser evil GOP complicity. They funded him and gave him all the votes he needed. They changed the rules to benefit him.

Romney is every bit as evil as Obama unless one believes that profiting from abortion, fathering both gay marriage and Obamacare, appointing liberal judges, gun grabbing, loathing the military and the rest are somehow not evil.

I’ve always been for Cruz but I thought Trump was fun and I would vote for him if it came down to it.

The the birther **** irritated me, then Reno happened yesterday and now it’s absolutely no to Trump.

I will sit home or write in a candidate if it’s Trump/Hillary.

Voting for evil is what got us evil.

I dare anyone to go out into the real world or stay here on FR and find me ONE SINGLE PURIST, just one, who refused to vote because none of the candidates was "perfect."

There are all kinds of self-righteous people who accuse others of being purists. But as for actual purists -- they are as imaginary as the tooth fairy.

So of course things go sideways while indulging in the stupid fantasy of "purists." There are more unicorns in the real world than the political "purists" some folks blame for the political fix we're in.

VOTING FOR EVIL BEGETS EVIL. Some of us who have voted for evil for years on the pretense of it being "lesser" evil, have finally figured out the lunacy of voting "against." Some of us have finally wised up and will ONLY vote for what we're willing to be accountable for if it wins -- if that means voting third party in order to "win" a debilitating plurality for whichever R or D leftist who otherwise might have gotten a majority mandate, then folks like me are happy to be FOR that way of fighting evil as opposed to voting FOR [lesser] evil. I'm happy to be accountable for a plurality split; I refuse to be accountable for an amoral evil-abetting leftist Republican.

It doesn't have to be perfect -- it just has to be outside of evil.

Heed my tagline and vote ONLY for what you are willing to be accountable for if it wins, imperfections and all.

Have media attacks helped or hurt Trump?

Whatever effect the media attacks have made on Trump, they pale in comparison to Trump's counterattacks, which are helping him more than anything else.

In other words, it's his fighting spirit in the name of Americanism and anti-PCism that is making him win.

Stay home then and don't vote.

BTW, which will be worse or better in your eyes, a victory by your Democrat liberal Hillary or your perceived GOP liberal Trump?

I suppose you don't care, considering them to be equally bad news.

I have to terminate this tete-a-tete....I get absolutely flummoxed by the reasoning level and convoluted thinking of a-thankfully-few posters on this board.

Sheesh!

“Obama could have done exactly nothing without lesser evil GOP complicity. They funded him and gave him all the votes he needed. They changed the rules to benefit him.”

Obama could never have been elected without all those sanctimonious “will not vote for lesser evil” voters staying home.

Convince me that refusing to play in the election process has advanced liberty. It just empowers evil.

Bravo! They wave that Constitution around as if THEY are the only people who love it. It is sickening and repulsive.

For people who claim to be so high and mighty and Constitutional, one would think they would, at the very least, have a problem voting for a person who does not even have an American birth certificate. A father that was either a Cuban or a Canadian, and a mother, born here, but chose to have her child in Canada.

THIS is how we have lost our Constitution. It is being manipulated out of existence for pure political reasons.

Hmm, have you watched TV lately?

All those words are in common usage.

You're craving the benefits of an outlawed Christian culture.

The charge of purist comes down to people mad that pthers will not vote for their liberal.

I cannot imagine how scattered a brain has to be to think a guy with the record or a Romney or a mitch or a bhoner or a ryan is acceptable in any way shape or form when their are Democrats with more conservative values.

Finny, it is just mor proof that they want the liberalism ‘lesser evil’ offers and they are no more conservative than Tip Oneill.

Hell HE was more conservative than some of the so called ‘conservatives I see justify evil on this site.

Convince me that voting for one evil in place of another does not result in evil being elected.
