China is our biggest trade partner along with Canada. What happens if the Chinese close our markets there?
Make stuff here? Sell stuff here?
At this point we either take the leap on our terms as much as possible or become comfortable being an economic vassal state to a communist dictatorship with a screwy stock market.
Most “US” goods in China are made in China. For example: Buick has a huge assembly plant in Shanghai. So if China retaliated they’d be putting themselves out of work
Uh...we go back to producing our own goods, people get employed again, the trade deficit goes down, the federal deficit goes down, and we don't have to grovel to a bunch of ChiCom murderers anymore.
Somehow we managed to muddle through 300 years of producing our own stuff before sending it all offshore in the last 20 years. Don't see why we can't do it again.
Some of us even remember that world. Fondly.

What is China’s biggest import from the US?
Keep in mind that this "biggest trade partner" business is heavily one sided. China sells lots of stuff over here, we don't sell nearly as much over there.
If China cuts off imports from America- no big deal. If China cuts off exports to America, they’ll last about 10 weeks.

No.
Mexico and Canada.
Mexico buys more from us than China.
And you didn’t answer my question as to what is China’s biggest import from the US.
FYI I forgot the sarc tag.
In China a BMW X5 made in South Carolina costs $330,000. If it were made in China and sold here it would sell for like $33,000.
