Uh...we go back to producing our own goods, people get employed again, the trade deficit goes down, the federal deficit goes down, and we don't have to grovel to a bunch of ChiCom murderers anymore.
Somehow we managed to muddle through 300 years of producing our own stuff before sending it all offshore in the last 20 years. Don't see why we can't do it again.
Some of us even remember that world. Fondly.

Trump can’t levy tariffs anyway as President, but it will take decades to rebuild our manufacturing. I think there are ways to do it without shutting of a large export market like China.
Um, not while we have the highest corp. tax rate in the world, unionization, EPA, OSHA, OCare, etc.
If not China, it’ll move to India or....
Not until govt gets OUT of the way would any biz even THINK of coming back so we could produce ‘our own’.
