Six years after it asked America who the best athletes of all-time were, the Harris Poll released its most recent results on Wednesday, and there's at least one constant: Michael Jordan.
Jordan was once again on top of the survey, followed by Babe Ruth and Muhammad Ali, who each moved up one spot from their 2009 rankings. Tiger Woods, who in 2009 held the No. 2 spot, fell to No. 8. Rounding out the top five were Serena Williams, who wasn't ranked six years ago, and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who jumped from No. 8 to No. 5.

What exactly is "The Harris Poll is a compilation of 2,368 adults in the U.S, along with representative oversamples of Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans"?

I don’t know, but I didn’t see Jim Thorpe’s name anywhere.

Glad to see Peyton climbing up the charts. When it comes to character, no one else in sports comes close. And his tv commercials are hilarious.

Good question. One that will remain largely unanswered.
If they like Michael Jordan, then leave it at that. I have no doubt if somebody dug deeply, there would be a lot of dirty laundry to air about Michael Jordan’s life, and his treatment of other people. We should never forget that nobody is perfect, and any story can be told with a negative slant.

Thorpe should head up any list of 20th century American athletes. I’d also put Jackie Robinson near the top.

Well, this would explain why the latest release of his shoes costs $229.99.
And we're sold out the first day they were released.
