NEWARK - A skirmish broke out between rival activists on the steps of City Hall Wednesday during what had been intended as a demonstration against violence in Newark.
Police were called to the scene after a small crowd began arguing over escalating violence and the city's attempts to curb it.
The noon press conference was called by a group of activists led by Salaam Ismial, co-chair of the New Jersey Study Commission on Violence, and Abdul Muhammad, a longtime Newark anti-violence activist. In a release announcing the event, the two said they planned to ask Mayor Ras Baraka to "unleash his quality of life plan in addressing ongoing violence facing Newark residents."

Oh. Right, right, right. I lost track. Today is Cooperative Economics Day. The patron thug of which is Louie The Looter.
Fighting for peace is like f***ing for virginity!
See my post #62 this thread...!
Wonder if he said; “Is Tyrone “Street Council” Barnes, gonna have to choke a bitc#”, before it the pic?
I know it’s bad, my apologies to Wayne Brady.
Sons of Barack, and mohammedans, too.
I’ll bet you’re right; they are fighting over who will lead the Newark tribe (and win the spoils).
NCE was a very tough school, but it served me well. No complaints.
Bwaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaaaaaa
Blondie is thinking, "I should have been a dental hygienist".

That picture brought back memories, er nightmares.
The large building in the back ground just to the left of the blond lady’s head is the newark federal building where I was working for 9 years. While there I was almost mugged once behind the building on my way to the parking lot but fended the guy off with my pistol. Behind the city hall, one FBI agent was mugged and a guy took his gun and credentials and tried to rob a second agent on his way home at night. That agent fought and retrieved the other agent’s gun (should have shot the sob but did not). Spent one night holed up in the police HQ with the senior emergency staff during a city riot. Also came close to getting mistakenly arrested while monitoring a demonstration in front of city hall turned into a melee. This just in the area seen in the picture.
Just up the street a traffic cop was assaulted by a guy hitting him in the back with an axe. The cop put six into the felon as he went down. Cop relatively unhurt, felon put down. Happy ending.
Interestingly the entire city administration from the mayor down was indicted and prosecuted for corruption during that time too. What a place.
This is classic!
Sounds like fun times. /s
The only time I recall being in Newark was to catch a connecting flight. US Airways. The place had a seedy feel to it. Early 80’s. You exited the aircraft straight onto the tarmac and walked to the “terminal”. Seemed a bit Third World to me.
Ping. LOL.
To this day, that was the only time in my life I've ever seen a "Police Blotter" section in a college newspaper.
Thanks; the footage on TV showed a bitchy little slap-fight. Not very “manly”...
