I am seeing all kinds of Breaking News stories about severe weather in Texas.
Is everybody OK?
Please check in, if you can.
Be safe!
Oh gee....that looks horrible.
Frisco is okay. I’m on the Frisco/McKinney line. Sirens went off a few times and it rained hard but the bad action was to our east.
LOL...it was 70ish, in Ct. on Christmas.
It's called HOW TO DRIVE YOUR PARENTS INSANE, IN THEIR "DOTAGE". :-(
Little pam cooking spray on that snow shovel makes for easier snow shoveling my friend...... be careful in the morning....:o)
Me to..... was warm but I was using my gadgets, mac pro, apple 6 and a iPad to monitor the storm and surf the forums while tending the fire....... didn’t want to lose communications per se as I have elderly family to stay in touch with in case they need help.... Can always jump in the truck and charge up and listen to Art Bell reruns I suppose.....LOL.
And to you .....winds are clearing off the leaves but getting neighbors leaves in return. This keeps up i’m gonna get leaves from out of state....
We had 60 degrees for Xmas and then this...... ba humbug.
Oh well as stated before .... we aint in Dallas.
We have three fireplaces, a generator, and gas for cooking and heating water, but life is very stressful without electricity, especially re elderly family to keep in touch with.
We have a whole house generator thats plumbed to natural gas line but its a last resort use. Mainly in hot summer when we need AC to sleep comfortable. A portable honda 1000 for minor needs yet wasn’t a need yet....
Thankfully, we don't have to use it a lot, but we have had power outages that have lasted more than 2 weeks. :-( I'm just hoping that this winter isn't anywhere near as bad as last year's was.
Power back off at 03:11 CST...... dang.
Just north of CC about 90 miles outside of Victoria and the wind is howling from the SSE.
The wind is expected to turn around and get really nasty from the North and down to mid 30s tonight. Get to crank up the ol fireplace for the second time this winter.
Have a lot of cut wood still stacked that will be used next year, and next year the way things are going
Hope this morning finds you and your family well
Wind is still howling from the South where I am at. Blowing all of our needed rain up north and the bad weather your way.
Last night when I went to bed, I was sure glad ground was dry because I would figured some of the oaks on this shallow dirt hill would surely blow over.
Great post there ButThreeLeftsDo,
Interesting reading how things are going out there from everyone.
Stay safe everyone and may GOD bless.
East Texas, Lufkin area -
Spotty rain here and there, so far just a sprinkle or two, windy and pretty decent ab out 70º at 11AM, expecting it to be down to around 50º this evening or tomorrow. Winds around 20 30 mph all morning. I was out by the lake at 8AM, looks pretty good but windy. Expecting rain later today.
A sprinkle or two yesterday, windy.
We’ve had 1.5” rain the past few days, yesterday and today probably not enough to measure. Looking at the radar this morning it looks like we’ll miss most of it. Fie with me, I’ve seen 2 tornadoes on this neighborhood years ago, one that picked up a car in the front yard and moved it 10 feet, yanked up a tree over 2 feet in diameter, 28 trees down in neighbor’s yard and one on top of her house, 2nd one destroyed a storage building business, nothing left but twisted metal scattered across a field. I was close enough to hear it, driving home, and couldn’t see the thing. Next day I found out I was within 50 feet when I was hearing it...
I’ve seen enough tornadoes, been way too close to about 5, I can live without them...
Oh, for those of you who don’t know, it sounds like a train coming through the room with you. Hear it once and you never forget that sound. And if you can hear it, you’re WAY TOO CLOSE...I’ve heard it 5 times...not fun. I’ve been very fortunate, the worst that happened was the tree yanked up by the roots in the front yard. It woke me up, I watched it out the kitchen window and didn’t realize what I was hearing yet...tree had already fallen, I think that’s what woke me up, limbs hitting the roof.
Glad you are okay.
Fox News Report: Death Toll in Texas up to 11.
How sad.
We purchased a natural gas generator after Ike hit.
We were without power for THREE weeks, then :(
We’re fine and much farther south but we do have relatives in Rowlett that we can’t reach yet. Still trying and praying.
Oh rats....hope you get it back soon !
