Franklin Graham: "I have resigned from the Republican Party..."
Twitter/Facebook ^ | 12/21/15 | Franklin Graham

Posted on 12/21/2015 3:19:36 PM PST by SoFloFreeper

Shame on the Republicans and the Democrats for passing such a wasteful spending bill last week. And to top it off, funding Planned Parenthood! A Huffington Post article called it "a big win for Planned Parenthood." I call it a big loss for America.

After all of the appalling facts revealed this year about Planned Parenthood, our representatives in Washington had a chance to put a stop to this, but they didn't. There's no question-taxpayers should not be paying for abortions! Abortion is murder in God's eyes. Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps! That should've been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding. Nothing was done to trim this 2,000 page, $1.1 trillion budget.

This is an example of why I have resigned from the Republican Party and declared myself Independent. I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America. Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble. I want to challenge Christians, even pastors, across the country to pray about running for office where they can have an impact. We need mayors, country commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values.

In just a couple of weeks, I will begin going state by state to every capital in our nation to hold prayer rallies for our country and share this same challenge on the Decision America Tour. Des Moines, Iowa, is first on January 5.

I hope you'll join me in your capital-check decisionamericatour.com for more dates and details.

Personally, I think the guy is full of crap.

Planned Parenthood has been funded to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars over the years, through Democrat and Republican administrations alike. This included a period from 2001 through 2006 when the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House.

I'm not sure why Franklin Graham -- or any other now-former Republican, for that matter -- would care so much about it now.

Except that it won't happen.

It didn't with Goldwater.

It didn't with Reagan.

It won't even if Trump or Cruz does the nomination.

The Republican party cannot be cured from within. The GOPelites are entrenched and control the apparatus that is the party.

Anybody over 40 has been there, done that, if they are thinking, caring people at all. It is his decision to make. He may be back. He must follow his own conscience. I agree with the principles so I will not condemn.

Split up the Conservative bloc? Most of the Republicans aren’t anywhere near conservative and near impossible to tell from a democrat.

I have a friend who works at the “Cove” which is associated with the Grahams.

I was talking to him last night. He said they take security seriously.

Fundamental Christians have always been anti-abortion.

The fact that Republicans would not defund even after the horrendous baby parts scandal is the last straw.

Well, I’ve promised that if the GOP pulls some stunt to oust Trump from the election then I’m out of the GOP, too.

I sure hope that he (and other folks who leave the party) can vote in primaries in their states to help purge us of RINOs. We need every anti-RINO vote we can muster. Folks who unilaterally disarm (i.e., they’re in states where you have to belong to a party to vote in its primary) by leaving the party are giving the RINO GOPe leadership exactly what they want.

Perhaps he has finally had enough? The constant voting for the lesser of two evils ensures only one thing, you still vote for evil.

The carrot is dangled before conservatives year after year after year... and we are inevitably disappointed. This year the GOP held its ground and didn’t give the Democrats a single penny more than they asked for. The Democrats spiked the football gloating over the just passed budget.

For Graham and many others, it is time to say no to evil in all its forms.

I wonder if staying and crushing the powers that be in the GOP is a better idea.

We have been trying that for years. Didn't work.

As a minority of a minority, not much. You can’t blame them for trying.
