We're eagerly awaiting SpaceX's next launch of a Falcon 9 rocket, and CEO Elon Musk tweeted tonight that it "will aim to launch Sunday." This is also the company's first attempt since a rocket exploded shortly after takeoff in June, and another failed to land on an ocean barge in April. A static fire test that took place earlier today "looks good," so if all the data checks out then this could be SpaceX's time to take the reusable rocket crown back from Blue Origin with a ground landing (or at least launch eleven OG2 satellites).
Elon Musk takes on cult-like aspects, but $5 billion in subsidies to his various other enterprises can purchase a worship all its own.
Bezos seems to have out done him, however.
At least he does not take the money for renewable energy, pocket the money, then go bankrupt.

Prove that he’s taken $5 billion in subsidies. Keep in mind that a contract isn’t a subsidy.

There is no announcement yet on where the first stage is going to land. It is configured with legs and fins for the landing, so it should either be on the barge, or back on land at Cape Canaveral.

I asked for proof, not flimsy evidence. The LaTimes played fast and loose with the meaning of subsidy.
Then it is your turn to prove that. I took your challenge and provided you proof. You now quarrel with the definitions and use ad hominem attack against the newpaper article’s author — ad hominem unless you can show what is “fast and loose”.
You can show how government contracted $5,000,000,000 with his companies as the table has turned.

You can also find a detailed account in National Review entitled: “Don’t Believe Elon Musk” — detailing federal energy subsidies (a part of his overall subsidy take).
You can look yourself, but you won’t take that as a suitable source either. I write this to show others what the truth is between Mr. Musk, the federal government (and states, including Nevada) and taxpayers.
I am not trying to convince you that Musk is a taxpayer subsidy vacuum. But others can examine the record themselves, both the LAT article and the National Review detailed article.

National Review is the LAT? And you have not shown what is wrong with any facts sited in either article. If you have proof, show it.

National Review isn’t what it used to be, and you haven’t specified what are facts in the LaTimes article, so there isn’t anything to refute.
