Washington (CNN)Donald Trump has hit a new milestone in national polling, garnering 41% of the Republican vote in a new national poll.
Trump is at 41% in a Monmouth University poll out Monday, holding a wide advantage over his GOP challengers. His support was up from 28% in October.
In second was the rising Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, at 14%; followed by Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, at 10%. Ben Carson was at 9%, down 9 points from October, and all other candidates were in the low single digits.

Thanks for the idea. I’ll be doing the same.
Agreed.
I wasn’t listening, but according to the fourth comment on the linked thread, Rush said it:

Heâs very suspect about Trumpâs multiple left-wing tactics.
..........................................................
Only stupid people don’t listen to the old adage, “Fight Fire With Fire.” Have Americans gotten so prissy they’re afraid of a man who tells it like it is and plays to WIN?
You won’t hear anything about that. it’s not in the play book.
OK I think Rush didn’t have the background on this, when he criticised Trump the first hour.
It seems he only got the Cruz side of the story, because he’s even now only saying Cruz’s side.
He’s now saying a couple of people said Cruz first criticised Trump, to which Trump responded. That is true. But not only did a couple of people report that is what Cruz did first, there was a RECORDING of Cruz criticising Trump which came out first.
Only then did Trump tee-off on Cruz.
I think this has blown over now, but Rush really didn’t report on this fairly.
Get your story right Rush.
Thanks.
Right you are!
I turned off Levin and rush because I knew they would start going after Trump. What is Trump supposed to do? Just let Cruz climb the polls and do nothing? Gimme a break! This is war! Politics is ugly Limbaugh and you know it.
Crux has fooled alot of conservatives. He was with the NRSC in 2013, said he was for H1b visa and immigration reform. How soon people forget. He could be aplant for all we know. He also sided with that lunatic Glenn Beck who bashes Palin
OMG!!!!. Is he going to drop out now???
No, Rush has promised he’s in this to stay.
Comparing the two comments, i’d say he is in Cruz’s corner. Read between the lines.
Appreciate the clarification! You can bet Rush is getting plenty of email feedback. Smoke is probably rising from his server as we post.
Amazing. Not what he said at all.
I don't think there's a doubt about it. But then, Cruz is the only conservative in the race. Rush knows that.
Oh, I believe you. I think he’s more upset about the Scalia comment than the Cruz comment. Sometimes Trump goes off - I don’t know why. If he thinks that’s going to get him the black vote, he’s way off-point.
And another thing - GWB was and is an open borders guy - and guess who was his adviser on immigration during his 2000 campaign? Yep - none other than Mr. Ted Cruz. So, people need to be very suspicious of this man. And, for those who don’t believe this - google it - it is true.
He showed it all with his Teddy Bears for illegal kids.
Levin and Rush are probably afraid of something they don’t really understand.....a person outside the political game who has come along and smashed all the rules. I am loving every minute of Trump’s war. He is simply following Patton’s way of getting the job done. “Lead, follow, or get out of the way.” People see Trump is a leader. He’s telling the politicos they haven’t been leading so get out of the way. “I’d rather have a good plan today than a perfect plan three weeks from now.” He knows the terrain and is superb at drawing his adversaries into an ambush. His off the cuff remarks are made with relative ease due to his confidence in his own strategy. Donald Trump is a winner and it is what we need now. People love it that he is spontaneous and off the cuff. We are sick and tired of the prewritten, prepolished, politically correct garbage we’ve been fed for innumerable years. Time for a new broom to sweep clean.
George Will certainly has gone from mildly interesting to that irritating, sudden intestinal gas bubble.
BS on his analysis of Cruz. Cruz has done some flip flops this campaign - especially on H-1B visas. It isn’t popular, so now he is joining Jeff Sessions on this issue. Trustworthy? I think not.
