(sorry for the double post)
Thinking of you, Johnny.
Johnny .... you are often in my thoughts and always in my prayers. ~Q
Prayers up.
In Jesus name, amen.

The lettuce seeds I planted last weekend have come up and need to be transplanted into the cold frame. I stuck the pan they were in out there yesterday but ran out of time to put em in the dirt. I'll have to put on my slicker and get that done today so they don't croak when the cold snap comes.
Beets, kale and green salad are still rocking out in the garden. I noticed yesterday that the garlic is starting to come up. I need to make a point to get it in a little earlier next year.
With today's rain I decided it was time to give up on the pond project until next summer. I had it all pumped out but it's a losing battle this time of year with all of the precipitation we get so I pulled the pump and hose and put them away until better weather gets here.
We turned five strips in the front pasture. 3600 row feet. Enough for 900 tomato plants. I was only planning to put in 500 so I've got room left over for some pumpkins and cucumbers and whatever else I decide might be a good market crop compared to the effort required to take care of it.
I wanted to make a couple rounds with the plow, but Dad was having too much fun. The soil in the food plot was a little tight, but it turned up really nicely. The last time this ground had been turned was in 1969.
Prayers up and continuing for our good FRiend....
Now that’s Gardening on a Grand Scale Augie...
Yeah I hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew, but I’m sick of staring at four walls and a computer screen five days a week working for the man. My goal is to replace my income by market gardening and get out of the corporate rat race before my ulcers kill me.
I’ve got plenty of ground to do it, I just gotta figure out the nuts and bolts of it and find efficiencies wherever I can so I don’t have to hire a bunch of help.
May I suggest this book .....

If nothing else, it’s a good read, but I think you might find his ‘journey’ interesting (gave up a ‘regular’ job to return to the farm) & there may be some lessons in his struggles and some ideas in his successes for you.
Those look delicious!
I’ll be right over, put on a pot of coffee willya? :)
Johnny report:
Johnny was in the hospital but is now home. We will see him this Sunday and have a “special” Christmas Party. Our family will not be here this Christmas, so I told Johnny we would have our Christmas with him. He needs your continued prayers. Will report on “special” party afterward.

Thank you for the update, and thank you for keeping an eye on Johnny! I keep praying for him.
Johnny is never far from my mind. I just hate that he very ill. He is such a mischievous person sometimes. Give him a (((HUG))) for me, Marcella. An Alaskan (((HUG))).
Did you receive my card for Johnny?
