How about fear of giant clams that can eat you in one bite? Chowderphobia?
My condolences.
I have found that as I got older I became claustrophobic.
Good to know I’m not the only one. I used to go spelunking and don’t think I could any more. My mom had a bad case. We had to disable the automatic locks on her car because they made her feel trapped.
They didn’t ask about Commie Govt. takeover fear.
hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
I just figured that was Welsh for butter or something.
Last summer I just couldn’t come down a ladder from my roof until I got a kid to move it to where there was a handhold on the side. The fact that there was an active wasp nest at the first location didn’t help.
Also freaked out - basically a pretty good panic attack - driving up a steep one-lane mountain road with a cliff on the side although I would have “raced” up and down it on a motorcycle when I was younger.
1. Acrophobia (heights)Being hauled up 40 feet in a bosun’s chair on my Dad’s sailboat.
2. Arachnophobia (spiders)Bad spider bite from a big spider as a little kid
3. Claustrophobia (enclosed spaces) getting stuck in the tiny engine compartment on that same darn sailboat!
4. Ophidiophobia (snakes) No problem. I like ‘em!
5. Thalassophobia (deep water)Don’t know why
7. Glossophobia (public speaking)
No problem. Performing musician.
8. Coulrophobia (clowns)no problem. Just think they’re stoopid
9. Trypanophobia (needles) Hate ‘em! Always look the other way!
10. Entomophobia (insects) No problem
My own phobia is paperwork. Filling out forms. Chartouraphobia.
Definitely #1 a little bit of #3 and #9.
Hoplophobia is contagious, in that it imposes agoraphobia on otherwise rational people.
Nor is the US Federal Government.
What about Obamaphobia?
Same here.
My fear of liberals is rational.

Been there done that and we were at sea
It’s just a damn little board on a rope!
Yep, that is it. Thanks.
I do have a fear of being trapped in a crowded space full of clowns with lots of public speaking going on. But enough about the Democrat National Convention...
I always thought that one was the punchline to various jokes, and not a real phobia.
